Guide for the good stuff. : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

Perhaps it is only because I am new, but it would seem to me that something missing from these boards with all of the macros and scripts that so many people have invested so much time in, is one good tutorial/readme on how this all works together. I am reading through all of these single file readmes and they all seem to assume a certain level of knowledge exists prior to the execution of their application.

I am thinking of writing all of that up once I have figured just what the hell is happening. So far in order to execute the application, I have had to disable a plugin here and there, and finally have everything running through trial and error. I do not beleive however that I have any clue as to what and why I am disabling the various options. All I know is that right now I dont see several things that the readmes expect me to see.

All the information to run these scripts are kept in the posts reguarding them, however it does take some legwork on the user's part to find them. The problem with making one big know-it-all post about everything is that with each EQ2 patch things break or the authors mod something. This is why the support for the scripts are posted under the script name.

You would have to constantly be updating the directions to keep up. It's a good idea but if people would just take time and read thru the posts prior to having a mental breakdown all would be good in the hood...

Yes I believe the thing that is causing some great confusion for myself is that I am searching so long after the release of many of these applications and therefore the information has been slowly built since their initial release. At the end of the day I am having some difficulty finding information from start to finish on the installation, execution and proper settings of the applications.
