New Adventure Pack Zone - Part 1 : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

I did the new zone last night and thought it may help others if I posted a few things about it here.

To access this zone you have to pre-order the new adventure pack.

Having done this type /claim in-game to receive a ring. You can have one on every character so no need to worry about deciding who gets it.

Examine this ring and it will give you an Access Quest - in other words without this quest you cannot access the new zone.

The new zone is for one or two players only. No groups.

To get there you need to go into Nektulos Forest, leave the beach via the path through the mountains and take a sharp left as soon as you are clear of the mountain.
Follow the zone wall around and before long you'll see the entrance.

Once inside the zone you are told to find a coffin.
The coffin you seek is in the middle of the central area - but it's not that easy. All around it are undead mobs that you have to dispatch before you can go near the coffin itself.
Single pulls are 'normal' mobs. Social mobs have down arrows. So all-in-all not too bad for a duo to handle.

The zone itself is basically a large cave with a few tunnels and a ledge area. Some of the tunnels appear to be dead ends but you can 'attack' the wall to break through. So far this doesn't seem to reveal much but I assume that will come with the full expansion.

Once you have cleared the floor of undead you can go to the coffin. But when you try to open it you will be told it is sealed and instructed to break the seal somehow.

To do this explore the cave further and kill any undead you come across.
As you explore do NOT touch the gravestones you find - these will spawn named mobs which you do not want to fight at the same time as the normal mobs.

Once the cave is clear run round and trigger the gravestones.
Some of them you just examine to release the mob others you have to actually select to disturb the grave. Either way you come face to face with the occupant of the grave who is not at all happy that you disturbed him or her.

Some of these are casters, several summon pets.
Engage them as soon as they spawn to prevent them from summoning their pets.

After you have triggered all of the gravestones you will receive a quest update saying you have broken the coffin seal.
Go to the coffin and open it to receive your reward - a necklace with some average stats.

Examine this necklace and a new quest will appear in your journal under Hallmark telling you to go to Timber Falls.....


***I will update this guide when I next go to the zone and include mob names and classes as well as anything else I can think of of use.
For now hopefully this will help you get an idea of where to go and what to do.***

Would just like to add the following...

This cave is great xp. The normal mobs are lvl 30-33. There is a captain who is lvl 34 ^^ and the grave spawns are 35 ^^.

I was told that if you complete the quest (kill the grave spawns) then you are not allowed back into the zone.

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Maybe it doesnt allow you back in but /claim the ring again and you can???

Once you clear the cave and get the quest update (and a decent item) you then get a second zone available. The first is full of skellys and general undead - the second is full of zombies and the mobs are higher level. Completing the second cave gives a quest update - upgrades your item (sorry dont have stats) and at any time you can go back into the dungeons you have completed. The quest ends there for now. I am guessing that the rest will go live on the planned live date. The pre-order just gives you early access. Gear that I have seen so far is just a bit under pristine tier 4 player made armor. The quest reward for part two is pretty decent (orange con at level 33) Cant wait for part 3.

My guild broke into 2-man groups and we had a blast in there in duo's

One of the last patches changed the zone so you can re-enter as many times as u wish. No timer either. Also you get a choice of which instance you want to enter.

Some other things with that zone.
when you go into the 2nd one.. Acquistion( i think thats the name) Clear everything.
And a octopuss mob (something Dmorte) with a pet spawns in the middle of one of the upper rooms. He is NON aggro, however Kill him and it will change the zone yet again and allow you to bust through the wall (the invisible wall in zone 1) and there is a coffen there. Destroy the coffen and some female vampire Dmorte pops. I have cleared it 3 times she has had a master chest twice. although not master loot just HIGH level adepts.
