Use the BUFFS luke.
Constantly press them over and over and it will make your skills go up faster.

It doesnt have to be tough. Just keep spamming the buffs alot.
Press all of them as much as you can. Dont worry about failures, you are just wanting to raise skill right?
Every time you press a buff button, you have a small percentage to raise your skill.

Pick the buffs, meaning examine them.
2 will normally say speed up at the cost of power.
1 will normally say it will decay the item just a bit.
Dont decay the item.

actually,
I use the decay all the time.
Anything that will give me a big jump in progress speeds up crafting.
This is great for those recipe's that are well below you and you dont want to wait to make the item.
Now, on harder recipe's you pretty much cant do this.
