Go talk to Knight Lt. Alesso. He will give you a quest to kill 10 rats, 10 snakes and 10 beatles. You return to him and he rewards you with 3s. If you hail him again he gives you the same quest over and rewards you with 2s Its not a ton of cash but its fast and legal. While you are killing the beatles in the field also speak to farmer Walcott for a beatle quest which gives you 74c. For the snakes there are 2 viper dens right by the gate. Also there are 2 rat dens right by the gate also.

monetary rewards seem to class or race, or a combo of both dependent. I have done this with a bard and a shaman at the same time repeatedly, and it never fails, the bard gets 3s, the shaman gets 2 silver. Both are high elves.

This might be a good newbie quest now that they increased the quest rewards (on test atleast, so it'll come to live if it hasn't already)
But where are these NPC's located? FP or Qey?

There is a guy near the entrance of the Thundering Steeps that will give you a repeatable quest like the one above. He pays about 5s for each completed quest. He asks you to kill 10 of either snakes, beetles, or crabs. They are pretty easy and should offer a quick cash turn around. You won't get rich from this but will help if you need some quick cash.

Also in TS, talk to the guy on the bridge (same for bridge access) and get a quest, he pays around 17s. I keep deleting the quest untill he asks me to kill gnolls. I run back to the gnoll crater at the entrance and kill them quick. At lvl 26 they are grey to me. easy
