Good news!

I can make my AMD Athlon 64 system crash trying to load eq2!

Woot.

Yes, this is a good thing, because now I can test my patches and see if I am making progress on the AMD processor crash bugs.

WOOHOOO!!!

I fixed it.

Now just gotta add in the features from 2.2 into my old 2.1 version.

The problem is a VB function INT(number). That function fails on AMD machines and corrupts the stack.

Use CINT(number) instead.

I'll have 2.3 out here in a just a bit.

Not sure if this is related but on my system I still get this;

I do have packetsniffer turned off

Just removed the crafter plug in and it still crashes so it's not that.

I couldn't get it to run 30 seconds before this patch on my AMD machine, before it would crash, and take EQ2 with it... now? Wow. Just wow. Thanks a lot for your hard work. This thing is awesome!

Sorry. Basically what happens is it gets to the receiving zone information screen then crashes back to desktop. Just finished running all the updates for Windows xp, updated video drivers to latest version, installed ms script 5.6. Testing now will reply after reboot and attempt.

Sniffer is unchecked and there is absolutley nothing running in the background (Save for my wireless nic but nothing else).

For plugins the only ones I have are;
EQ2 Crafter
V2 Triggers, Macros and Scripts
Xunleashed Windows Input service
Sniffer (Unchecked)

Still crashing at the exact same spot. and yeah I am using 2.3 of crafter plugin but as I stated before during one of my many edits so you probably missed it the game will crash even with the crafter plugin uninstalled.

Do you have a Reghandler plugin listed? If so, remove it.

Make sure your tcpip packet sniffer is unchecked.

make sure your Crafter plugin is at version 2.3 on the plugins tab.

I am also having the bug where eq2 will crash upon reaching "receiving zone info" any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated. i have packet sniffing turned off and the crafting plugin is the only one ive installed. I have the newest version of it.

If you receive that error with the eq2 plugin unchecked, it is not the plugin, but a config/OS/background app problem.

Post a new thread about it.

Haven't tried running XU under XP compatibility yet, I guess you used regular WINXP with your 64-bit setup?

I appreciate the constant help, but no go on the compatibility thing. Any ideas besides switch OS and try again?

Yes, I dont have a copy of 64 bit windows.

It might be a win-64bit thingy causing it. I'll see if I can get ahold of a copy for testing.
