Not the wholesaler, the BROKER.

OK, I was confused about this for a while and think that others might be too.
In Qeynos, at least at the Luminary cache, you buy the items from the broker who is directly across from the chic that gives you the quest. Not the guy downstairs that sells ingredients for crafting. Meaning you are buying from players with a 20% tax if you buy right there from the broker.
Problem is, that players are charging 4 to 10 silver per tier III item, and then if I have to collect 15 of those items for a 48 silver reward... well if you add it up, I am taking a loss. I have ran to the black market several times and found that even though there is a 40% tax, the items are usally cheaper than the over infalted Qeynos junkies.
If you havent found the black market yet in Qeynos, go to Qeynos Harbor. go towards the center of town from the docks. You will go over some boards that go over top of the moat right as you are going through the arches. Directly below you is the moat. Go either rigtht or left and jump in the water. Swim in the opening that goes under the road. You will see a hole in the wall that is under water about half way between the openings. Swim through there and go up and you just found the black market vendor.

I kinda thought thats what u meant wyvern, just as the last post above, I would lose money doing so or make so little its not worth it. Hence why I thought you were not talking about the broker.

just wait a while and go back to the NPC. there seems to be a timer on how long u have to wait until going back and requesting another assignment. i'd say 1 hr max RL has reset it for me. didn't keep specific track of time tho since i was crafting for a while b4 going back to him.

True, it depends on what other people are selling at the time to determine if you will find a quest with harvent items that are on sale for a decent price.

Actually, today's patch will fix it so that it is no longer possible.
So prices should come down.

This was nerfed in todays patch. Now you HAVE to go and gather the stuff instead of buying from the broker

I dunno about buying from a broker, but I had the stuff in my inventory and got a single ding every time I zoned until the quest was completed. Fluke or no, I'm not sure, but sure as !@#$%^&* surprised me.

I wonder if that is another bug. They fixxed one and gave us another? So if I read it correctly we just need to zone in and out till we get our quest complete.

Ok, I've tried this and can't seem to get it to work. For example, I have the collect 15 Belladonna roots wholesaler task and have a few in my inventory from other sources. I don't get credit for them when i zone . Do I have to have all 15 for it to work?

I had that issue but then i went away for about 15 mins and came back and he gave me a different quest. He was in Graystone yard then i went to antonica and back (bout 15mins later) and he gave me another quest.
general reply:
I also have an issue with the quest item not being posted in the broker window which is proving to be a pain.
