 EQ2 crash : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

After several tries EQ2 loads successfully (I've choosed "EQ2.exe" as hook file) but now i have no more the XU logo on the corner of the screen so i even don't expect to launch plugins...
If I put back "EverQuest2.exe" as hookfile, the XU logo appears but EQ2 crashes upon loading zone infos...
All my plugins (EQ2crafter & EQ2Service) are up to date, i play in windowed mode, unchecked TCPIP etc... ( i've browsed the forum all the day lol ) but nothing i do can bring back the XU logo...
Probably there is an easy way to resolve that problem but can't see what it is 
Thx for your help  )
PS : I'm playing on a french version of EQ2 if this is of any importance

know this sounds stupid but many problems with XU is solved by rebooting you computer, puls check for virus scan and such, you scanner might have a service running in the back ground even if you closed it.
If that dont work, we have to call in Wyv

Reboot doesn't change anything and when i've tried to desactivate Norton INternet Security & Antivirus my PC was infected with 2 virus in less time needed to click on XU.exe lol....

Then you should install all your updates. You wouldn't get infected if you had all your updates installed. Also you should run some type of hardware firewall or gateway instead of relying on flaky poorly written software firewall.
I've had a computer for over 10 years, have never run any active anti-virus program, and have never been infected by a virus.

If youdissable your antivirus and you get a virus when you turn it back on. That means you already have a virus and nortons is not stopping it.

OK for the antivirus but what about the initial pb please ?
Don't think antivirus is in cause since i have no error message from NAV and there seems to occurs some DX error and crash occurs upon receiving Zone Info after character selection.
My version of DX is 9.0c and all windows files are up to date.
Any idea ?

I started crashing every time after I installed the map plugin. Unchecked it and now run fine.

Doesn't change anything : the only plugins installed : EQ2Service & EQ2Crafter.
I always get the same errors in XU Log :

You do not need the eq2 service installed for the crafter. Uninstall it.

Those with AMD problems AND running the EQ2Radar, please download the latest version and reisntall it.

Uninstalled EQ2 Service, then reboot with no option checked except Display Logo, Random Filenemes & Force Redraw (this one seems to autoactivate on each XU launch) but still crashing after character selection "zone".

minmax, I have the new StandAlone version somewhat working.
It is a little buggy, but I am working on it with the new features admin put in.
Boot up EQ2
Go to a crafting zone.
Bring up the crafting window in eq2.
Make sure eq2 is windowed. NOT full screen.
Next, Launch XU.
Change your option to StandAlone.exe in the config tab.
Click play. It will overlay an XU page on the screen. Switch back to EQ2.
Bring up a persona window.
Hit ctrl-ins-1 (to bring up the eq2 crafter plugin)
Place the persona window behind the crafting plugin.
Does it work then?

Woot, don't took time to fully config the EQ2crafter but seems to work without making EQ2 crash
