Could be a broker farmer as well, with the great new things for higher guild levels he may be cornering the market to make some cash. I used to do similar things in EQ1 with my baker.
Basically you just take what you have, set your price above most others asking price and accounting for broker fee's, then sell for a profit.
obviously being duped. report the bastard. (status items are an obvious target for duping because they're stackable- a key to most of the eq2 dupes, and easily disposed of).
