Perhaps they designed it like this, but somehow I can't see why as the potential is rediculous lol Basically anyone with enough money can make guild level 30 fairly quick. Reason being is the new status loot items are not no-trade, meaning you goto the broker with a plat and just buy buy buy, then turn em in I even confirmed it, 'cause I went to the market and looked up Blackened Iron Relic just to see if people were selling them, and they were! Now to confirm this and make sure it wasn't jsut a bug to make them display on the broker window, I acctually bought one.. I suppose if a mailing dupe sploit ever arrises again, it'd be insane, you'd have people with like over 1k 500-status point items. The first part of the post is why I can't see why they would have made them purposely not no-trade, the 2nd part is even more so why I can't see it.. Did I overlook something or is this really acctually an exploit?
Edit: I did find a problem with the status items though.. The status the item is supposed to give back is not correct.. The items are supposed to give 100-500 status points (depending on the item).. Which to me tells me their meant to be like booster shots for the guild xp bar.. I think theirs a bug with it, as it seems to give status_of_item / patrons which is the way normal guild status rewards are handed out.. I get the impression the status items inadvertingly wind up using those rules. So at the moment it's horrible return on them, but I guess eventually they'll fix it, for the time being let's hope they don't notice it no-trade eh?

I'd say they made them no-trade on purpose. Guilds cannot just quickly make high levels because as you said, the status gets devided so severely that it really doesn't make much of a dent at all.

from soloing I get a good amount of these and if everyone in a 20 person guild contributed thats a good sized chunk probably around 50-75k a week of actually factored guild status contributed. They are common enough to help.. scarce enough to dissallow small guilds to plat level their guild.

Its intentional. The patch notes specificly said they were tradable. Why? Because not everyone is in a guild, nor are they all patrons.

Why? Simple. It says 300GSP, but you only contribute about 20-30 points to the guild.
You would have to turn in over 150 of them to contribute the same status as one completed heritage quest.

Btw, these Items give like 200-500 personal status which converts to 16-41 guild status for a 12 person patron guild. It will take a aweful lot of these to really make a difference.

Yeah I realized that the other night when I went to try it.. I was under the impression they were designed to give the actual amount they say their for since their a little bit harder to obtain (as it's a corpse loot, not always 100% i.e. completeing a writ).. Thought I was onto something there lol

Has anyone checked if a NON patron turns them in, does it still add to guild status? If so they could be fairly useful by keeping patrons down but permitting others to still contribute.

Ya know that's a good thought.. I'm not a patron of my guild, and the gsp tag did show up (providing I was at the right merchant, of course). Now granted, my guild is lvl 29 and the bar moves so slow that it's tough to tell, but when I sold my gsp items the bar didn't move.. Someone who's in a lower level guild might be able to tell us more

ah but you see, there was a perk to the status items untill the august 5th patch, cause they were dupeable, i know a few guilds that got to lvl 30 in a day, but the dupe was fixed today after months of being around. kinda miss it cause now im broke. owhell. back to playing the real way again.

My guild is currently level 3 (very new). Turning in about 10 stacks kicked us over from level 1-2 and again 2-3. Anyone who's read the EQ2 RPG (PnP version), will get an idea of how XP works. Here's an example:
Level 1: 0 XP + 2000 (basic base number) XP to reach level 2
Level 2: 2000 XP + (Level 1 XP value x2) to reach level 3
Level 3: 6000 XP + (Level 2 XP value x2) to reach level 4
Level 4: 10000 XP + (Level 3 XP value x2) to reach level 5
and so on. This will explain how low level guilds can shoot up through the numbers and high levels are crawling through the numbers. The amount of XP needed to reach the next guild level becomes quite outlandish, which is why HQ's are worth outlandish status and are only completeable by high level characters.
As a side note, an unguilded person CAN sell status items for full personal status points to the right vendors, however, since they are in no guild, they get no guild status. Just as well if unguilded, you will not be offered writs.
