Ok, what, and how is this accomplished?

What you experienced was a bug. It basically allows any type of healer (not just fury) to be invincible to all but full groups. I do it all the time on my templar and laugh for 2 minutes straight as some random dps class tries to take me down. What they do is they don't enter combat, but you do. This allows them to get full health/mana regen benefits of their food + drink. Plus their heals don't get scaled down for PvP if they don't enter combat.

I have even "beaten" a group of 4 yellows all by my self using this tactic. I didn't actually kill any of them, but I did manage to make them run away after the beat on me for 6 minutes straight before realizing they were all completely oop.

To avoid this if you get into another staring competion with a healer just keep staring until they either attack you or move along.

If I understand that correctly it's essentially what happens when you engage in combat and then yell. You now have out of combat regen, but can kill. However, when not engaging (i.e. auto attack) you regen better. I have done this with mobs that heal themselves - I won't auto attack just do dot's, heal, and ward. It may or may not be a bug on PvP, but it's definitely part of the mechanics of the game.

ok im not sure if i read this wrong of what but i play pvp alot and what actually happens is ; you engage into combat with a fury ( or any other healer type for that matter ) unless he/she goes into combat ( auto attack , nuke , dot , debuff ) his/her power / hp regen will stay as if they were out of combat.

so what common tactic to do ( which i have done many of times ) is to let people attack you and waste power using Combat abilities thinking they are winning but little do they know your power and hp are still regening as if you wernt in combat. when they are low power you can strike! bang! nuke! snare! dot! nuke! root!
and you win still very high power and hp
