This will get you 35% more coin for your vendor loot. Me and my guildies have been scoring vendor loot thats worth 10-20 gold. So say one worth 10 gold is taken to blacksmith he gives me 13g 50 s anyways you do the math. To get the absolute most for your vendor loot go to blacksmith in willow wood. He pays more. Just try him and try another vendor. He pays way better for items such as your looted ancient treasure, weapons, shields etc...

Compared blacksmith to my regular sellback merchant, in tradeskill instance and alchemist in Greystone yard, same rate on a dropped bracelet, adept 1 and looted souvenir treasure. Dont know on weapons or shields.

It would be more accurate to say 'Not all merchants buy your stuff back at the same rate, look around for the best deal.'

It was posted way back when EQ2 came out as a hint to the players that certain merchants will pay more for certain items. My experience is Alch theme merchants "appear" to pay more for certain low lvl dropped alch type items. I remember this from back a year ago. Alch dude in Temple Street by gate is a good example, seems if I remember right he paid more for blood than other merchants and there was a merchant in BB that paid more for feathers but that was a long time ago.

If the original poster provided a list and good description of the where abouts of the better paying NPCs then it'd be worth premium. Otherwise its pretty lackluster.
Closing submission.

This used to be related to some vendors were on different factions. The better the faction the better the price you would receive. They had WAY too many exploits of people making plat doing this so all vendors now give the same price regardless of faction.
