Kudos, jynx. Ex, if you tried the game you would already know most of this stuff. If you're trying to figure out whether to get it or not, here:

This is an UNBELIEVABLE game. But it is not easy, and it is not quick. Nothing comes quickly in FFXI, and for the RPG fans that's good. It is supposed to be time consuming and challenging. If you like Sonic the Hedgehog, don't buy this game. If you are a GameShark freak, don't buy this game. You generally cannot cheat or scheme your way to ultimate power instantly in this game, although I'm sure there are isolated exceptions. Judging by your questions here, I'm led to believe you might not be a FFXI guy.

I was with a party at the Dunes (i hate that place) lvling my low lvl WAR job for my Ranger and was with a party of only 1 advanced and 1 sub. I tried tellilng them about SC's and alternate healing with WHM's, and just basic partying dynamics, and they blew me off saying i was trying to be a big shot so basically knowing they would think this was legit. I voked a Gob with 1 hp, so I could bloodport back to HP in Bastok. LOL

I mean when you get to about lvl 30 you either have ppl who know whats going on and get party invites, and ppl who don't and are constantly spamming for parties.

Man, is it just me or is Dunes fagit invested? I've got the same problem with Dunes, and I'm on Bismarck! Dunes 100% sucks, total noobs who just know sweet FA!
Yesterday, some dude pulled like 50 gobs in Dunes into this other dude, total tw@, and that other dude zoned them but the train came right at my party and menny others. I mean, WTF is with these people? have they no resepect whatsoever?! And because I complaiend they called me a noob, level 30 RDM, mentor.. noob...? yeah.. right... Sure its not MAJOR high, but who is I ask you? when you're leveling so many jobs and all, I'm currently working on BST, it ain't that major to be of high level unless you've been on for like almost a year then yeah sure you might just be, or just really damn good (kudos to those damn good players lol)

for some they would quit because of too much time lack of fast paced action and not knoing what to do. For the true RPGer they would see it as a great chalenge.

Whenever my party gets more than one mob aggroing us or when we realize we can handle what we've got. We break for (for example we're lvling on the beaches) Selbina, but we give plenty of /shouts detailing what we're pulling.

No no no, you're not getting what I'm saying, it was done on purpose! This guy was pulling the gobs into this n00b on purpose! since this guy was high level he could have killed the whole entire train in seconds! And as for the shouts, we hardly got any warning whatsoever until it was practicually too late, no plenty of shouts at all so of course I then made a fuss about it, I mean who wouldn't? We don't need tw@s like that who are going around deliberately spoiling the game for others. If there is a problem they should let a GM handle it not take action into their own hands and let other inocent players face the consoquence to their stupidity on their actions!

the dunes are noobville, because of the leves playing there. of course you have people releveling other jobs, but you have plenty of noobs..however, ive seen high levels pull trains up through crawlers and garrliage that you wouldnt believe...im sure a lot of people have seen this. you always hear people bichin about it..i have wondered before if someone just thought it was cute or something...one time it was so bad that everyone gave up, all pt's disbanded, they were trainin cit bats and even fallen evacs over and over..it was rediculis. people even were yelling gm. i try to stay out of those places ..lol..there are betterplaces to level...witch gives me a great idea for a post.
