First of all please remember that this is a rough guide it may not be the best way to get you crafting skill up but it is the way I used and I for one am quite pleased with the results. Also the information here has been gathered from existing sites so im not claiming to have worked this all out myself :D

lvl 0-6: Shell Ring <- Wind Crystal + Fish Scales x1 + Seashell x1

* compare prices for fish scales and seashells at the AH and the guild shop, sometimes the one can be cheaper than the other
* sell as much shell rings as possible at the AH, sell the others to the guild
* don't expect a profit at this level

lvl 7-16: Bone Ring <- Wind Crystal + Sheep Tooth x1 + Bone Chip x1

* don't bother selling these at the AH, you'll get a better price at the guild (and if the limit for one day has been reached even a normal NPC shop will buy them at a good price)
* you should be able to almost break even

lvl 17-22: Beetle Ring <- Wind Crystal + Beetle Jaw x1

* this one is easy to craft as you only need one ingredient: beetle jaws, which are stackable
* best to buy beetle jaws in San d'Oria or Bastok as they usually are cheaper there
* singles are usually cheaper than stacks: 500 gil for a single, 8-9k gil for a stack
* beetle rings sell for 1000 gil at the AH (I found them to sell best in Windurst and worst in Bastok), if you have multiple mules, you should be able to make good profit pretty fast crafting beetle rings
* if you have too much rings to sell at the AH, the guild will buy them for ~670 gil, which should provide a small profit (or at least allow you to break even)

lvl 23-27: Beetle Mask <- Earth Crystal + Beetle Jaw x1 + Lizard Skin x1

* from this level on you can start to make real profit, beetle jaws are still the way to go, but now in combination with a cheap earth crystal and a lizard skin (very cheap in Bastok and San d'Oria)
* both beetle jaws and lizard skins stack
* a beetle mask sells for ~1500 gil at the guild (~1600 gil at AH), so sell all masks you craft at the guild shop = fast leveling with a couple thousands profit in gil

Bone lvl 28-29 / Leather lvl 4-7: Beetle Mittens <- Earth Crystal + Lizard Skin x2 + Beetle Shell x1
Bone lvl 28-31 / Leather lvl 4-7: Beetle Leggings <- Earth Crystal + Lizard Skin x2 + Beetle Shell x1 + Beetle Jaw x1
Bone lvl 30-33 / Leather lvl 5-8: Beetle Subligar <- Earth Crystal + Lizard Skin x1 + Beetle Jaw x1 + Cotton Cloth x1
Bone lvl 31-35 / Leather lvl 5-8: Beetle Harness <- Earth Crystal + Lizard Skin x3 + Beetle Shell x2

* The items needed for the different parts are very similar so you can easily monitor prices
* Make sure to always compare prices, often singles are cheaper than stacks, also another AH might be cheaper
* Actually you have a choice here for which type of image synthesis you want to use (if needed), level bonecrafting high enough and use leathercrafting image synthesis support or do the opposite
* The good thing about these items is that they will level both your bonecrafting and levelcrafting skills
* Keep in mind this is a slow process as you have to wait for everything to sell at the AH, having several mules can speed things up
* It's always a good idea to start with some crafting when you log on and put everything on auction, then wait until the next day (do something else in the mean time) and start over

If you ever get bored of crafting Beetle Equipment there's another item which you can craft from level 31 on: Horn Rings. These won't provide any good profit (you'll barely break even) but as you can sell these at the guild shop in Windurst Woods at quite a good price, crafting Horn Rings allows for a fast level up to level 36.

Bone lvl 31-35: Horn Ring <- Wind Crystal + Fish Scales x1 + Ram Horn x1

* Buy your fish scales at the guild shop, this is usually cheaper, if none available go to the AH
* For Ram Horns, travel around the world (or use your mules) and buy all the Ram Horns you can find without letting the prices go up too much (once you have to pay more than 200 gil more than the price you started buying them at, stop and go to another AH or wait a couple days)
* The negative thing about Horn Rings is that it's a Bonecrafting item only, it doesn't affect your Leathercrafting skills
* Sell all rings at the guild shop, if they don't want them anymore try again back the next day

Once you hit level 36 it gets a little tricky again. The next items to craft will be Carapace Equipment parts. The strategy will be very similar to the one applied when crafting the Beetle Equipment. Before starting with this your Leathercrafting HAS to be high enough or you'll get bad results. So if you Leathercrafting skills haven't reached level 8 yet, continue crafting Beetle Subligars and Harnesses until you finally reach level 8 (Your Bonecrafting won't go up while doing this, but at least you'll make good profit crafting these items).

Bone lvl 36-43 / Leather lvl 8-10: Carapace Mittens <- Earth Crystal + Dhalmel Leather x1 + Fish Scales x1 + Crab Shell x1
Bone lvl 39-45 / Leather lvl 9-11: Carapace Leggings <- Earth Crystal + Dhalmel Leather x2 + Fish Scales x1 + Crab Shell x1
Bone lvl 41-47 / Leather lvl 9-11: Carapace Subligar <- Earth Crystal + Dhalmel Leather x2 + Crab Shell x1 + Linen Cloth x1
Bone lvl 43-49 / Leather lvl 10-12: Carapace Harness <- Earth Crystal + Dhalmel Leather x2 + Crab Shell x2

* Keep in mind you'll need quite a significant amount of money to invest in ingredients (20k gil is a minimum)
* Again compare stacks and singles, don't bother buying nor selling at the guild shop anymore, they don't have competitive prices
* Sell all the equipment in Jeuno, they won't sell at other AHs
* Remember to pay for advanced image synthesis (120 gil around this level) or you might end up losing all those valuable ingredients (although I kinda like it when my skill goes up although synthesis didn't work, but only the crystal was lost)

I plan to take it further when I have some more gil but in the mean time this should get you started.

Also, i would strongly suggest finding furnishings that give moghancement: earth so that you will lose less components when your synth fails.
