Hi there guys!
As you all must realise with all the recent and past MASS bannings, alot of us have been caught out. If you're like me, lazy to start again in the Dunes, and went out and buy an account. It would really benefit us if we could change our characters name.
Is there any way, verified, to change your name? I have heard of many ways to change you characters name, some work in the past and some are just plain obvious and would get you banned.
Here is 2 ways that i heard of that can be done to change your name, I havent done it before, so can any1 verify that it does work or post another way you might know of?
Trick #1 - Only works once!
1. Delete you MAIN Character then delete your Main Character's Content ID
2. Tell a friend to purchase a new content id then make a new character with YOUR character's name
3. Wait a few days or weeks, then contect help desk
4. Tell them a fake story, either you accidently deleted your character, or someone logged into you account and deleted your character, be creative and original
5. Playonline Help Desk will tell you they will restore your character, but someone(your friend) has taken the name, therefore you must choose a new name
6. Choose a new name, and THATS IT!
NB: I was told that if u do it this way, u will lose all your rare/ex and sellable items, basically you just get back a character who is naked! Any1 can verify this pls?
Trick #2 - Only works sometimes!
1. Tell a few friends to make a GM Call complaining about ur name, they can say that your name offends them
2. GM will make further investigation, and if ur lucky a GM will contact you telling you that your name is offensive to players and request you to change it.
NB: Only works if you have a name that can be offensive. if its something like James it wont work lol Whereas if its like Mofo or Wala it could work because mofo means MotherFc...uk and Wala means something in another language.

#1 works
#2 very rare
#3 which may work from some to time
cancel your content id with your char, in another id create a character with your old char name (may need to wait until after you get billed). try to reactivate your account after you have a mule with your old char name. rename your char when it tells you that you have to

Hi Lilfisher, thanks for the reply!
Your #3 way sounds too good to be true, if im correct this is the step by step way for u to change your characters name. Just rearranging it to help others that didnt understand or didnt know.
Lilfisher's #3 Trick
1. Cancel your main content id(the 1 that you want to change your name)
2. Wait until the end of the month after you get billed
3. Purchase/Aquire a new content id and create a character with the name of your main character
4. Reactivate your deleted character, and it will ask you for a new name, enter new name and thats it!
Questions:
1. To actually "reactivate" your deleted character, wouldnt that involve contacting the Playonline Help Desk? The deleted character's content id is still active, but the character itself is deleted?
2. Can you verify that this actually works? or did u hear it from another person?
3. Say if it works, does your character lose all ur rare/ex and sellable items after changing the name?
Is this right? just wanna make sure so i dont make a mistake and lose everything in the process
Cheers

you in no way delete your character, just deactivating the content id will work. or atleast it used to, some people have said its fixed while some people say it works.

This info can really help alot of people, worth moving to confirmed so tault members can see them, imho ^_^
bwhxeon - If #1 works, do u know if the your rare/ex items gets deleted or not? I would move all my sellable items to another account, but its the rare/ex items that im worried about.
And also i never spoken to anyone who has done it this way(#1), does any1 know what the Playonline Help Desk would ask b4 they restore your character? Im guessing the usual Cd-Key, Name, Addy, D.o.B etc..
Lilfisher - I can verify that just deactivating your content id and making a new 1 with ur old name won't work. I have tried it extensively with 4 of my accounts, and none has worked. All 4 accounts had different names, addy and credit cards. So im pretty sure that way is nerfed.

rare/ex items will survive as long as SE has a proper copy of your character which they should.
i cant verify what i said works, i said its said that it was patched and someone else said it was
