Character Name Change : FFXI General Discussions

There's is only one way I have heard of doing this and it was to:

Deactivate the content ID and then create another character on a different account with the same name. It is supposed to force a name change.

I tried this and it didn't work for me. Does anyone know another way to change your character name? Thanks!

You have to delete the original character and have them restore it. You can only do this once, and will have to have another character with the same name once you delete it.

Is there a big risk of losing the char? How long will it take for them to restore it? Is their a possibility that you can lose some of your items?

contact a gm, and request it

I believe that you lose all your items but I could be wrong. Read up on Alla or something about people who have undeleted their chars.
