Has anyone elses servers experienced a big economic depression?
Fenrir has had everything become worthless.

Darksteel ore: 80k at the boom 40k avg has now followed this trend > 30k > 20k > 10k > 7k > 7-14k (varies greatly)
sh: 5mil > 3mil > 2mil
Beastman blood: 150k > 100k > 70k > 50k> 30k very very depressing
Avatar blood (some really hard !@#$%^&* to get): 40k > 9k

Things are becoming so bad I don't even know what the hell to do. Camping is impossible since rmt outnumber all regular campers combined.

I just don't know what to do for money anymore I used to farm/mine these things but everything is falling so fast that its hard to get income.

you need to pay less for the items you want too, on the bright side.

and dynamis currency/limbus coins price are pretty consistant.

Its all supply and demand. Give it time, it will even itself out. Try taking up a craft because the items are so cheap, and in turn youll be helping the economy go back up because your shortening the supply thus driving up the price.

I thought about that but I can't see were to go and how I will make profit in the long run unless I know how to hq. I really don't see the point of crafting unless people could shed some light on it for me.

You definitely have to find a nitch if you're crafting for substantial profit. By my observation, it's better to sell the ingredients than the crafted item. I agree the exception to this is if you crafted a HQ item.

Yep, costs are way out of line in most cases. I've been down your road and found it a big waste of time. I'd rather fish. Once rod is bought, I've spent as little as 10 gil on stacks of bait to yield 5k/stack back in relevant fish. I find that crafting skills are nice if you farm/buy basic ingredients and craft something YOU or a friend may use/want. Food is a good example of this.

I don't even see the point of lvling fishing past nebonite cap lvl. Theres no other really profitable fish.

unless you get godfish and turn them into zaldon/sell them

ryugu titans can get you a 2 mil sword.
others can get you a map that gets you into a BCNM that drops mercurial kris

Hmmm, I'll have to check out Nebimonite. I didn't see a point at leveling fishing past Moat Carp.

Fishing is my chosen craft because I can acquire a quick return on my investment. I can fish at least something at any level. And, I don't have to leave town to go to some far remote area just to farm some rare ingredient in hopes that I can successfully accomplish a synth that I know I'll probably take a loss on. :?

FFXIAH

On this website, for one, you can check prices and ah histories and, basically everything AH related. It's also linked to Somepage when you look things up. I love this tool, I use it even while playing since it's faster to check than running to the AH.

Anyway, related to the 'depression' of ffxi. They posted a chart, using the data off each server, using sales, prices and so forth to give points to certian things. You can easily see the decline in the market.

It's pretty easy to figure out. Everyone wants to blame RMT for this decline, but in reality it is SE that did this, and they did it purposely. They would have the RMT round up billions of gil, then delete that gil. It was faster than hoping Chocobo prices, and Dynamis costs would delete gil. They do it every month now it seems when they ban accounts.

With that money being just removed from the server, with no way of it coming back into the economy, wether it be from people purchasing that gil, or from the RMT using it to gear up their characters (Which at least on my server, they do), it's not coming back now. With the RMT continually farming items we buy on the AH, collecting that gil, and SE continually deleting the accounts when they have the gil stashed. People are running out of money.

Thus, economic depressing that will never return to 'normal' per what it was the previous year. Basically, get used to prices dropping, people not being able to afford anything, and what you have being worth less.

Simply put, when it was at peak, it'd have (obviously) been almost worth it for anyone who invested in gear, to sell everything they have for gil, store the gil and stop p laying for 2-4 months. Come back to the game and rebuy everything, you'd have stock piles of gil to spend on low cost items.

Most of the gil on servers was duped, billions of gil didn't come from these piddly 1K quests and killing beastman, or using THF abilities. This changed the economy in one direction, now they're flipping it back. Sadly this kills every person who has been playing in the last year or more, as they most likely did invest gil into gear, buying high now it's worthless.

so the consequence of deleting RMT gil, the price goes up and no one wants to buy them eh?

now tho we're facing new problem. more and more armies of RMT levelling up taking over all the normal exp camps. its getting real annoying.
