Fast Fame In Windurst : FFXI General Discussions

Hi I'm trying to get the Teleport-Mea quest for my White mage but i heard you have to be level 4 fame in Windurst and I cna't get quest at level 3 fame so it must be true, does anyone know a fast way to get fame in Windurst?? Please help me!! ^_^

well, not really fast, but with some luck you can make some gil while doing this: theres a young mithra on the docks (far west) in the port area, cant remember her name. she wants bastore sardines and will give you 70 gil for each one. If youre lucky, you can buy them right there at the fishing guild for less than 70 gil, if not, use a rouge rig(....i think...not sure about that one...one of the rigs with multiple hooks anyway) and you should be able to get a few each cast. the most time consuming part is needing to exit the area and re-enter every time you repeat this (she only excepts one at a time), since your a whm, and I assume /blm, set your HP to the nearby HP and warp after you give her a sardine to reset it, then repeat.

This takes a while, it doesnt raise fame very quickly, and its really boring, but it does work, and you can make a little gil at the same time.

I got hero's fame in Windy in a few hours trading Cornettes to some dude (sorry I forgot his name) in Windy Walls. Look on Allacrapzam under quests in Windy Walls and you'll find it. IMHO, better than the Sardines quest and faster. Only problem is Bastok has to be leading the conquest for you to be able to buy Cornettes from the Music Shop in Bastok Markets.

ok, im actually from windy, so ill at least be some help... The person in windy docks is a TARU, not a mithra, and you can get cornets off mandies in east or west sataubutra(sp). The guy in walls is Yoran-Oran i think, his name is on the map, and the taru in port is the one on the dock corner before you turn into the guild shop

bastok has to be leading in conquest to buy cornettes, so that means that idea isnt very reliable, so id say to the sardines or just do a bunch of quest in windy that you havent done yet. but if bastok is actually good on ur server, then fill ur inventory, and if u buy 30 and trade them in, you only lose about 2k, and every 37 i think puts ur fame up 1 lvl

you can also buy cornettes off the guys sitting near the big tree in windy woods... when windy is in first of course.... he's with the circus.... he also sells flutes i think too... correct me if i'm wrong...

I used the MH "glitch" while doing the corronet quest.

I paid a newb bout 10k to help me for about an hour of help. I had him just stand in his MH.

what I did was, when bastok was in first, I had bought as many corronets from the guy who sells them in bastok markets, sent them to the guy I had paid (I didnt have to worry about him stealing them because they were basicly worthless) and had him return them to sender.

I repeated this about 40 times and learned that the Delivery Box has a limit. The person I paid said that he got a message that said "you cannot send this item to the person because their Delivery Box is full" this happend after about 160 corronets were packed in there.

I founnd this a MUCH faster way to do this quest because you were able to stay in one city and then only have to move to another once. this got me to, or over, fame 7 (because I had needed to do the avatar prime quests) after only one round of doing what I had done. I hope that this will allow me to stand out ammongst the others ^^ I have other tricks that i have posted. btw i'm sorry if i'm bumping posts that are a year or older lol.

wrong. cornette is bastok only. 1st or 2nd place.


just use allwait0 with a bastok mule sending cornette to your char in windurst. you can stand at the npc and open your delivery box right there. even faster if you 2 box. but still this needs bastok to not suck which rarely happens.

the sardine is ok. it's just extremely annoying having to talk everytime before you trade and you have to zone out after every trade too.

The cornettes way takes over 100 traded to maxe fame. About how many sardines would you have to trade ? since the zoning basically makes it a bigger time waster.
