hey all. I've been learning coding for a while now, and it never dawned on me to practice by making FFXi bots until now :-p. Anyone know which language I should use mainly? I'm thinking VBScript, cause I've downloaded a few of the open source ones here and that's pretty much the only language I've seen these bots be written in. Also, can any of the coders here recommend a good place to start learning this, or recommend any books? Thanks in advance. (PS, anyone know what language XiFish was written in?)
edit: I phail at spelling.

I wrote XiFish in C#, though it does use some C++ for minor things.

I'd recommend using a .NET language, which means C# or VB .NET (and J#, F# etc.). They all have pretty much the same capabilities, so just pick one you're comfortable with.
Direct memory reads are reasonably straightforward, but to be honest FFACE saves alot of effort keeping offsets updated. Google it.
Best way to learn? By practice, and by example. Maybe start by modifying other peoples code until you know enough to begin experimenting for yourself.
If you need anything btw, you can msn me.

Ahh.. gotcha. I've been using Microsoft Visual Studio and messing around with that, it's a lot of fun :-p. Gonna get FFACE now, thanks! and did you mean MSN or MSG? Cause that'd be awesome if I could add you to MSN :p just don't know your e-mail!

I believe my msn is in my profile. If not it's my username @ gmail.com.
Having said this, were you the person who added me earlier today (/yesterday)? Nice to try and keep track of who people are sometimes.
