Well I've been fishing for a while now. Got my Lu Shang's in about 2.5 weeks and I'm up to about 65 skill now. I'm currently fishing Bastore Bream's and Bluetails bouncing between West/East Saruta and Port Windurst.

I don't know if there is anti-bot code or not, but there are some oddities.

I've never had a large amount of Rusty's...ever. Most I've pulled was about 10% of my total number of obtained catches, but usually not more than 5-7%. When I was fishing Moat Carp with 50-56 skill I was getting a Catch rate averaged out over 8-10 hours of about 35% of that 35% I was obtaining about 55%. So I was pulling in about 15-18% of my total casts. This was actually pretty decent and usually averaged out to pulling in about 22 stacks of Moat carp/Gold carp. Usually a 2 to 1 ratio of Moat to Gold.

Now that I've moved on to Bastore Breams and Bluetails that number has dropped fairly significantly. Very occasionally I can pull 20-25% for a few hours, but over 8-10 hours I usually average between 15-18%. That 15-18% I usually obtain approximately 65-70% which I was quite happy with. Now with the 20-25% that would equate to 13-17% which is about what I was seeing above, but I can't sustain that for very long. So it actually averages out to about 10-12%. Well you subtract out the pamtam kelp and we're talking probably 10-15 stacks of Bastore Breams/Bluetails in the same 8-10 hour period. I usually get about a 1 to 1 to 1 ration of Breams/Bluetails/Kelp but occasionally I pull in a horde of bluetails. When I pull in more bluetails my breams/kelp doesn't seem to drop much.

I'm not really complaining about it because it still ends up being close to 100k in that period, but I'm wondering what really seems to be effecting the catch rate.

It's not really the moon phase because I've watched over the course of a bunch of different moon phases and there are slight fluctuations, but it all seems to even out. Not like with moat carp where a full moon and your pulling 100% for an hour straight.

I've played around with various zoning schemes. Normally my path goes like this...

West Saruta -> Port Windurst -> (Windurst woods) -> East Saruta

Windurst woods I just pass through obviously. Then the path goes back the other way. So in a full round trip I fish Port Windurst twice and West/East once.

Well someone said there was a zoning requirement so I had it go like this...

West Saruta -> Port Windurst -> (Windurst woods) -> (Windurst walls) -> (Windurst waters) -> (Port Windurst) -> East Saruta

Then on the return trip...

East Saruta -> (Windurst woods) -> Port Windurst -> (Windurst waters) -> (Windurst walls) -> (Windurst woods) -> (Port Windurst) -> West Saruta

So that was a ton of extra running. Besides severely cutting into my total catches for my usual period of time, percentagewise it was no different. So it seemed to have no effect on my fishing whatsoever. Now originally I didn't know you could catch Breams/bluetails in Port so I was just running back and forth from West to East and back. The first time I fished in Port after I heard I just sat there and fished for a while and I was getting like 35% Bastore/Blues it was excellent. Haven't really gotten it since.

One thing I did try that did seem to help it a bit...bumped it up to 18-20% or so, was I logged off for an hour. Prior to that I was fishing 23 out of 24 hours a day. The 1 hour was probably me running around selling fish and what not. So maybe it's all login time. The occasional logout didn't seem to help at all. I logged out and left it logged out for a good hour and half. So that seemed to have a helped a bit.

Here's another observation. I thought maybe it was the fact that I was using a lure. Well I tried sliced sardines and peeled lobster and the percentages were close to what I was getting with the minnow, but there were a lot of crap fish so the percentages of the Breams was actually lower. So I thought I would try Crayfish balls. Perfect the only fish you can catch is the Breams. They are the big money makers so perfect. Wrong. Take my minnow percentages and cut them in half. It was like fishing with the minnow without getting the blues.

So needless to say I'm back to fishing with the Minnow and still working to figure out a pattern to make it catch more fish.

Any observations you have post them here...

Sarutabaruta fishing kinda sucks. Check some fishing sites on where fishing is really good and you can make 30k an hour instead of 10k. If you're a 38+ whm/blm and have the important conquest ports you can make some damn nasty zoning patterns that completelly destroys the anti-bot stuff.
(!empty($user->lang['QUOTE'])) ? $user->lang['QUOTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'QUOTE'))):
West Saruta -> Port Windurst -> (Windurst woods) -> (Windurst walls) -> (Windurst waters) -> (Port Windurst) -> East Saruta

Then on the return trip...

East Saruta -> (Windurst woods) -> Port Windurst -> (Windurst waters) -> (Windurst walls) -> (Windurst woods) -> (Port Windurst) -> West Saruta
From experience I would say this extra running doesn't help in sarutabaruta. Remember that the anti-bot code was made to hit the sarutabaruta / windurst fishers the most since that's where most people were botting.

I like that idea asl of using the ports to get around a worldwide fishing pattern. Would help a ton more to have the ability to stay sneaked when possible. Or detect large sweat when you will pull in a monster. I have fished in yuhtunga near norg, and almost 3 of 10 casts were monsters....Let's jsut say I spent twice the time fighting then I did fishing.

Well I determined that a simple logout/login every hour also had no effect of the catch rate. I've moved on to other fishing so I won't be continuing my studies in Saruta.

There should be some sort of fatigue implemented, or monsters that spawn and kill you if you don't type a randomized number every once in a while. You botters deserve to die.

 It's stupid !@#$%^&* like this that makes people who don't use bots have to waist their time zoning or use a mule to fish because of a 200 cap per day list.

You see anything that they add like this can easily be over come by a bot. A bot can be almost as intelligent as a human, and in a lot of cases a better fisher. ANYTHING they add to stop botters that doesn't include they directly talking to a person to find out if they are there can be added to a bot to defeat the code. In fact even them talking can be adjust for in a bot script.

So you see you're waisted your time even posting here.

Well I have found that bastore bream are just hard fish to catch. Normally I skill off of them myself and I find that as long as I keep the bluetails and bream I can turn a decent profit, then again I am bit higher than you in fishing and can turn a 30k an hour profit off these two fish.
