Starting today i have been given an 85 hour leave of absence from FFXI. The cause: most likely Fleetool, but may have also been NMAlert. I'll admit it I kinda deserve it beings I used them right in front of others. The downside was they were gil sellers(bastards). I've reported them a few times to GMs but they must have an undetectable program or hooked up with GMs. It happened out at Castle Oztroja hunting Mee and Quu one fine day with a friend who also used the same programs as me and also in my party. =/ Not sure why they didn't report him but i'm glad they didn't. After claiming Mee we both ran over to start waiting for Quu with gil sellers in high pursuit behind us. To let you know i was pretty secretive about using Fleetool only turning it on to Strider speed just to give me a little advantage over them when /follow kicked in. There was also no others around besides gil sellers. So when we got to Quu on of the gil sellers came up to me and examined me probably checking why i was able to get to NM quicker to find out I had no Strider boots or any equip to give me that ability. Next thing i know i'm being warped into jail and having to wait 5 min for a slow GM. When he showed up I asked them what was going on and where i was. lol Even though i knew i was in trouble. He said I was there cause he got a report of someone using a 3rd party program. I said "Yeah just the other day I reported a few gil sellers for using 3rd party programs. So have you found anything in your investigation?" lol He said "No, i'm here cause you've been reported for using 3rd party programs!" "No I think you're mistaken i was the one that reported them" lol Well you can see i tried switching it around but in the end he said he investigated me and found that i made 7 violations dealing with 3rd party programs. I said "Well this is all new to me, but what happens next?" Then bam hit me with 85 hours suspension from 3rd party programs and to figure out why that's happening if i claim i'm not. He told me to ask the SE Technical Support Team to try and figure it out and i can do so after the 85 hours of suspension. =/ lol Well i'd like to try using only NMAlarm cause it's an amazing tool, but i've read that 2nd strike with a 3rd party program and you're out! So maybe not. Any advice? Otherwise good luck on not getting caught for MrArgus, NMAlarm, or Fleetool cause you will if you get reported, so never ever ever use them if around anyone! Even gil sellers!

Certainly the gilsellers will report you. I was banned for life on another character from gilsellers at Mee Deggi. And I was close friends with 2 of them there. I had raised one of them in Valkurm some time ago and he befriended me one day at the camp. They taught me the timing to know when Mee would pop next and when to run to Quu. I assume its different now, but even without hacks, these gilsellers were very good at what they did. They would often ask me how to use certain JP programs they had come accross, or send me links to things like FFXI-App and ask me "You know this program?", "How is it?" things like that.
But for the most part, they could do without them. And the more popular MrArgus became, the more risky it was to use it, so they stopped. I would show up to the camp somedays, and they would give me the heads up - "Other gilsellers trying to get players banned for Argas, do not use, OK?". It came to a point where the gilsellers realized that MrArgus was hurting them and not helping them and so they would have their translators make GM calls on the bot users at the camp, to eliminate their competition.
Of the 2 gilsellers I knew at the camp, only one spoke somewhat good English. They said they had the translator answer to GM calls if made against them etc. They did get suspended and banned sometimes tho. But they could get a character to 50+ in like a day, they even invited me to join one of these power level parties once, but i declined. Im only one person playing a toon, theyre like 2-3 working in shifts. Each employee at their company controlled at least 2 characters at the same time.
Since then, the gilsellers I knew have stopped playinf FFXI. They said its just not as profitable as it used to be, and its easy to see why. I still see him on his gil laundering account from time to time(the account he received and sent mopney from). He always asks me, "You need gil?" >.> They used to essentially keep me satisfied with gil, so I didnt have to come steal Mee away from them. However, I see now it was mostly out of the good of his heart, since he continues to ask me if I am hurt for gil these days. Even though he does not himself farm gil from FFXI anymore.

And to better answer your question, I was suspended 3 times before getting banned for hacks, but this was a year ago.
1st suspension:
I afk camped Jaggedy-Earred Jack when I went to work. I came back and found that I was logged off, and when I logged back in...alas I was in Mordion Gaul. When the GM finally appeared (fyi, you have to actually make a GM call to talk to a GM even in jail), he asked me if I knew why I was there, I said no of course. He said he had received a call that I was holding a mob from other players, and asked if I knew that this was against the ToS. I said no again, but claimed that my roomate or someone must have been screwing around on my account. Of course he recited to me that it was still my respnsibility no matter who is at the controls. Amazingly, he didnt mention any 3rd party tools, tho it was MrArgus repeatedly trying to cast my finishing nuke spell tho I was way low on MP, so I think I just kept dia'ing him (the claiming part of my macro).
2nd Suspension:
XiJobChange... as I mentioned in another thread. I was suspended over a weekalong with hundreds of other players, after an emergency maintenance to stop this program, whic allowed job changing in any zone. I had only used it once too, to show to a friend, like some parlor trick.
3rd and Last Suspension:
I successfully claimed Mee Deggi with MrArgus, despite the warning from the gilsellers I was friends with there. After claiming, many of the other gilsellers started shouting- "GM Call! GM Call!" And another gilseller being cute said to me in a /tell, "GM Call{goodbye}"......Goodbye indeed. I got the drop tho, and it rests with my cold dead fingers. FU Xables!

lol, yeah I got suspended too, about an hour after you. Only I just got 81hour suspension, but he said next time I get banned.(only one warning???) Technically for me it wasn't a 3rd party program, since I made it When we get back on, I'm scared to camp again. o.o I doubt they have anyway of detecting nmalert, but 3-4gilsellers reporting the same person they must figure they cheated for sure. Atleast we got the drop

Yeah it's true we did get the drop. We were a great duo striking fear into the hearts of the Mee and Quu gil sellers while it lasted. They never did tell me they would ban me for good next time though. I wonder if it was cause i was trying to sleeze my way out of it. Whatever works you know. Almost offered him a b.j. We really gotta get our hands on what they have cause obviously it's undetectable! I mean many many people, including myself, have reported those gil sellers and they're still there. They report me once and i'm suspended. lol Oh well better luck next time. I should start a new account now and test bots with that one cause i've worked way to hard to lose this one.

hmm but without using warp in mr argus I think it's harder to detect now right? I just started using mr argus this past week (without afk tho) and everyone all around me seem to be using the /follow provoke macro. it's like impossible to tell which are manual which are argus like that.

i was banned on a new character just recently and i wasn't even using any 3rd party programs at all. i received a few tells and the pop up box a few times at sozu but its been quiet for over 2 months since i stopped camping.
after that last server maintenence, i go to camp bloodbead. with my nin AF boots on, i run 25% faster at night. some other camper makes a smart remark saying i'm running way too fast whne it was night time. he had crimson cuisses and ran faster than me with AF boots at night.. i mean wtf? so blatant. anyhow, it turns day and i'm running slow. 15 secs after it turns night again and i take 2 steps i'm pulled to jail.
explained the situation that the other guy is running faster than me and that i should be running faster than him with my nin AF boots. gm ignores anything i have to say and told me that my account will be up for review to be banned and that i will now be suspended.
this is complete BS. i immediately call tech support and the rep says all he can do is file a complaint against the gm so i said ok and filed my complaint. 1 day later my account goes from suspended to banned. all this from running fast legally in the game.

Wow! I've heard of people getting suspended for not using 3rd party programs, but they've usually said bad words or done something else. In your case I don't see how they could do that. You must have run into the wrong GM that was able to pull some strings and do whatever he wants. SE is like any company. They hire people cause of their credentials not because of their morals. If these GMs are gonna be such a huge trouble I might think obout moving to WoW. lol

What ever happened to the days when games encouraged cheating huh? I mean Mortal Kombat and Contra are good examples. They used to make cheats part of the games. Now after getting used to all the games like that they expect us not to use cheats in newer games. They should let it happen. I mean if people are smart enough to find out these cheats and codes, just like getting them for Contra, they should let them. Not everyone knew the cheats for Mortal Kombat, but after getting beat down by someone that did they would research more about the game and find them out themselves. In all actuallity making people get into the game more and having more fun.

a lot of console games still let you cheat.
And besides I don't see how NES games letting you cheat is connected to online gaming in any way.

A game is a game. Whether it's playing against people around the world or playing with people in your house. PS2 is a gaming console and people play FFXI on it. I agree online gaming is different in a way, but it's just another multi-player game like the rest. It was just made to accomidate to thousands of people and the coding is a lot more advanced, but in the end it's still a game.

They key difference is, when you cheat in a Single Player game, you just cheat yourself.
You cheat in a multiplayer game, and its like cheating in real life. Your cheating affects everyone.
Also, if you get busted in life doing something stupid, you have to pay for the consequences, and no one will sympethise with a cheater. So you have to be good not to be caught. Thats part of the game for me. The aspect of danger is what makes hacking these games such a thrill.
