how do you all begin again? : FFXI General Discussions

this is for all of those who have been banned or simply switch servers, experienced players starting out at the bottom once twice or even 3 times !, how doyou all start out? me personally i go thf and go with some fishing and mining for a long while haha, till im strong enough for other things. what about rest of you?

I'd play a new game if my main got banned.
I quit once. And starting over SUCKS. Having to go through the dunes without enough money to support your food sucks so bad.

i just play like normal and dont try to make gil like i normally do. sure i wont have the good gears but who needs them. gears dont make the person skills do, plenty of !@#$%^&* players on my server who have good gears but understand jack !@#$%^&* about the job. ofcourse i pick up fishing but that isnt as big of a money maker at the beginnig unless you fish carp. i also go brd because you can have !@#$%^&* gears but if you got the skills or even not the skills you will level up quickly

im an ex 75 bard and there isnt much we can do, with the new update really investing nin into 40 is a huge money maker, bst to 30 for 15 thf sub and seal farming, peacock runs, sure it seems like alot but once u get ur 10 mil drop split 3 ways worth it all


i also agree with mikan on the food thing,, sure we did it when we didnt know about it, but onceu get a taste of leet its so hard to go back.. lol its literallyl ike not a question if u want to be gimp or not, u just cant lol, atleast feels that way soemtimes

Best gil maker is Antivenom Earrings....800K each, and heavily monopolized by me and friends lol.

The food you need for early lvls is not expensive. Except for 2 jobs which everyone here knows which 2 I am talking about. If you are lvling those 2 jobs you should already be high enough to support them anyway.

i went for making a fish mule, i had my friend loan me 100k for fishing gear/bait paid him back over a night and every chance i got fished until i had my other char leveled as high as i needed to camp NM's and such. i still run my fishing bot but not nearly as much becuase it seems to take too long to make any real good money. Until that is i can go try for angel skins but thats still gunna take some more leveling for my 53 BLU =P

lol man my mule was capped at 10 fishing for so long.. all he did was fish up carp, ezy way to make 60k gaurenteed a night (ah slots usually full). and he was capped cuz i didnt in san doria, i hate the country so... figure id bot in it :\

final fantasy XI is the best game ever woot!!!

I've found through many experiences, that it is best not to do something in a game that can get you in trouble...

Example: I used to play RS2... It was my life. Then it got boring. I found out how to scam people in trade. Fun. Then boring again. OMG! I discovered cheats for it! Fun. Then boring again. 2 Months later. Level 98 with extremely large amount of money. BANNED!!! According to them, I violated every single solitary one of the terms and agreements....Oh well... After that I discovered FFXI...So it wasn't a bad loss... But the lesson will always remain with me:

Don't cheat or violate the terms and conditions unless you WANT to get banned. Cheating is bad in the game and causes many problems for the players who go 100% legit. Like me in FFXI. So far I have managed to play it without doing anything wrong and without buying gil. I know ts hard to play legit when others around you are cheating, but wait until they get banend and then see who's laughing. I just wanted to share my experience wih you people and hopefully talk those of you that are seriously considering using illegal programs in the game. Unless you want to get yourself banned, I wouldn't use them. Coming here for hints and tips and helpful guides seemsfind though. Don't think you could get banned for those... I personally like this site... And if I didn't just blow 20 grand on hospital bill, I' probably be a premium member lol.
