i POSed and MrArgus'ed today nothing happened.
they dont detect the programs they just tell GMs go everywhere and watch ppl thats all, just to ban 2k ppl and tell ppl that they are doing something about that (about 3rd pt and RMT)

Do you honestly believe that they manually found and banned/suspended 2000 accounts? This is a major gaming company. They have better stuff to spend their time on, and certainly can do things more proficiently than have GMs make a big tally. Most likely they have a little trigger on their server that will add you to a list of people who have teleported or moved to quickly in a short period, perhaps a client-side trigger for things like allwait0, or even windower. If the FFXi window is out of focus, if you buy two items from the AH in quick succession, bam you're on the list.

They probably got a nice big list and said, OK, lets ban 10% of these idiots to scare off the other ones. They effectively wipe out a large percentage of hackers while only losing about 2.5% (assuming that half only were suspended, and half of the banned people buy the game again), of their revenue from the h4x0rs.

Anyways, they CAN and probably DO actively check for noob hackers. This also explains why only some people got caught. For instance, my friend hasn't hacked for months and he got the ban stick. Unless he's not telling me something, that means that they've been scanning for months, obviously.

I figure theres atleast 1 gm per server...

So, a lil from each server... and just delete the ones with the most uses or w/e

Your right about scaring off hehe no kidding.
If they were to ban the other 300,000 people who are using bots/hacks/exploits/3rdptprogs... then they would have lost roughly $50,000,000 per year and yes, like you said over half would go out and by another copy and start the hell over

The GMs dont work jsut one server. They can cross servers, and do.

Not like banning 2000 accounts is a big loss to them anyway. With more then 20 servers, you figure theres about 4-5k people on each server. Thats less then 1 server total of people getting bombed. Not a big notice.

And yes, it does seem they just keep a list of what happens over months and then bomb that list after a period of time. Friends of mine started using hacks recently in the past 2 months and didnt get anything towards their account, where as others I know are gone now due to using them over a longer period of time.

From a financial point of view, it IS a lot.

lol i just hope they dont do a second round ban or im fried, i craft a lot and i used allwait0 A LOT got like 60 stacks of crystals in seconds but i allways knew they can trace you cuz bid time get registered.
