I wanted to see how many of you that still play ffxi wish that it could go back to how it was. And if you dont want it back the way it was what keeps you playing even with all the gil sellers and third party programs running out there?
I have been playing WoW recently and I have posted a couple of times on the differences between the two. I really gotta say that I miss the "Hardcore" atmosphere of ffxi. I am sick of hearing the words "mommy" and "daddy" inside of WoW. I played ffxi up to having a 75 RDM a 75 BLM and a 75 WHM and ran all the HNM's and stuff and finished almost all of the CoP missions. (if the final missions of CoP had any super hard bosses or whatever I never fought them. Quit before that)
I miss you all who know you have a job to do inside of a party and know that there arnt really any free rides inside of the game. I did have any trouble with people buying accounts or whatnot and dont know if you do know but I miss you guys....the players of ffxi and I need a reason to come back. I only dread the thought of how much gil my vermillions(sp) cloak is going to cost now >< and not having a subjob and having to lvl in the dunes *cringe*. If anyone has any motivating advice or thoughts please share.

some things never change.
there will always be the big short bus, and it makes frequent stops practically everywhere.
today it seems that HNMLSs are less motivated to cooperate to stay out of each others' way. fafhogg, behemoth, VoS turtle are still popular mobs, but CoP / ToAU have taken some of the HNM attention.
Doing CoP missions was a !@#$%^&* back then, as you knew, but its going to be more challenging today as less people are seeking to complete those missions.
Good luck. FFXI still has a lot of life in it, so don't be too discouraged.

I’ve been playing FFXI since the American release on PC. I have 75 NIN SAM WHM RDM DRG MNK RNG and 74 PLD. I look back at the way I used to play, with no zerocast counting down my timers, no windower allowing me to PL myself, no POS to get around areas that suck, or get myself into a spot that’s raisable, camping NM’s for a couple months was bearable, now it’s down to who has their timer set properly on their bot. For me, with no windower, the game would be dead to me. Camping HNMs is not of much interest anymore, gods are no interest doing it with a linkshell. Really I like doing whatever I can with my small group of close friends. I enjoy doing limbus by myself to make money, being able to camp most NM or small HNM by myself. Killing gods with a small group for entertainment value rather than anyone worrying about what drops. I play 2-4 characters at all times, so without these tools I would quit. I should be quitting anyone looking how long I’ve been playing, but there are still some things I enjoy. Also the new update gave new reason to merit some more as well as some new things to kill.
I do remember the old days, no Tparty having to ask for peoples TP to skill chain. Logging out every time I wanted to check parse results. Heck I can even remember leveling my first few jobs. I wouldn’t synth without Craftmon and/or CTS, I wouldn’t do ENMs without POS, I wouldn’t want to help anyone with any mission on spot without knowing I can always fleetool kite if something goes wrong. So anyway, these tools I think keep some older members still playing who wouldn’t if they were gone. Pretty much I now consider 80% of PC users are using windower, when I hear of someone who isn’t I generally figure they’re on PS2.
So anyway I do remember the old days, I am glad I don’t have to relive them.
