Incapable of making gil... : FFXI General Discussions

I think ffxi is a really cool game, but still i haven't gotten the time to spend 99% of my time trying to get gil to buy gear. Thats pretty much why im using XU. And if people think botters as myself are the scum of the earth ruining the economy...i have just one thing to say...FU ive never had more than 200k in my wallet. Even with XU im totally incapable of making real gil.
Im a lvl 72 fisher and I can make like 25-30k / hour fishing in ssg, even though when fishing in ssg i cant leave it unattended so nothing lame about that. But if im suppose to afford say... a vermillion cloak (4 mil) i have to spend 200 hours in ssg (minus the bait cost). And honestly thats not going to happen. Even camping nm's unattended with XU is next to impossible w/o being detected by other players. So my question i guess is this. How the hell do ppl make those millions. Im so tired of not being able to afford anything im going to camp argus until i get it (w/o thf sub im guessing it will take about 3 years to get the drop..). I dont really care anymore if i get banned from playing couse it really isn't any fun playing broke anyways. ok enough whining and self pitty, if anyone has any tips on how they make gil i would be really grateful.

I'm gunna make money by selling Lushang's rods (since I don’t have time to fish because of school work). I modified one of asl18fs' fishing scripts to be the ultimate fishing bot(s). It's plural because I use 4 different characters with it.

What it does: I fill my main and 4 characters with bait. Then I set it going. After each hour it switches to the other characters, but before it does it not only changes zones but it changes fish locations. I have 4 different locations in all for each of the 4 characters. So there are 16 different locations in the 3 towns, Sandy, Bastok, and Windy.

I also adjust the onMGDetect or whatever it's call to log me out and get me out of the character screen if a GM even comes near me. The reason for all the routes is so players don't get suspicious. Each character is only in the zone for at most 1 hour and then is at the same spot only once every 16 hours. That’s enough to keep any player from being suspicious I would think.

I did this not even knowing VB Script when I started. I just modified lots of functions I found, which were already in scripts other places on the sight. If you are gunna make your functions from the scripts I suggest watching Sleep timers a few of the default timers for things like zoning and I suspect crafting as well. The script behaved oddly until I increased the wait timer for zoning by at least 5 seconds and put in another check point further into the zone I had just entered, so I could zone back.

Anyway if need help I’d be will to give you some more tips on how to get it working and answer any questions you have.

I am not trying to leech your hours of work but perhaps i could inspirate me doing something similiar for my char. And improve my fishing.

If you can't live with 10k an hour while you don't do anything, you got issues. It's safe, no bait, no broken lines, no !@#$%^&*.
Leave it for 16 hours at your own risk, play it smart and reap the rewards.

Fishing is a really lame way to make gil. I do it in my spare time, like when I am watching a TV show or reaidng a book. The problem with your post is you act like the verm cloak is necessary, and that is just wrong.

Level up to 75 first, than worry about expensive items. We had 18 people make 100 million gil in one night doing kindred seal 99 battles. Yes, I got 5 and a half million gil for just a few hours work.

Just fish when you have nothing else to do, and exp party the rest of the time. Just have your spells, decent gear, and eat food and you will level just fine.

Seriously, why spend 200 hours working for an item that only helps you level faster? Wouldn't you level faster if you spent those 200 hours actually leveling? Besides, Noble tunic is better and there isn't a single whm in my HNMLS that hasn't been given one.

I dont really need a vermillion cloak i just used that item as an example, what i do need is ancient magic scrolls wich cost multum...and possiblie some more staffs besides dark and ice. But anyways your right im gonna level to 75 first and whine later. Its just that its hard not to envy all the guys with uber gear

I don't mind posting it, but I'm going to remove the adjustments to the onGMMessage. The orginal author of UXFish did NOT want people to script afk. So you're gunna have to learn to adjust that function yourself.

no problem with that at all .. just tell us when u are going to paste the scriptfiles (...)

Notice, once you post the script you will have to rewrite it since others will use your paths. It'll be suspicious enough if there's 3 people standing on top of each other fishing.

Perhaps, I guess I didn't think about that, but I didn't say anyplace in the script, the zone these paths are for. So it would take longer for them to figure out where each starts then it would to rewrite it entirely. So I'm betting they'll take the easier path, as it is human nature, and just write the paths for their own fishing spots.
