I have been reding threads that state they were banned because they were foud to be running in window mode. Is this true, can they tellif you ar ein window mode or not? Just wondering before i go and start playing in that setup.
Discuss?
Also why does my intro screen seem reallly laggy when I had started the game in window mode? is there somethig I need to set on or off?

according to process guard SE is scanning your processes so they can tell which one is windower so yes it is entirely possible. best to use PG to block SE from scanning anything

when people say they get banned for just the actual use of windower, they're probably lieing. However, anything is possible, I suppose. As for SE scanning your processes, they would have to add a bunch of crap to the TOS, in which event you would probably here about it. I cant explain why PG is shooting up flags though, aside from the possibility that SE is reading processes.

PG = Process Guard http://www.diamondcs.com.au/processguard/
It literally guards processes from things like being read or terminated, as well as preventing processes from reading other processes. EX: if you configure PG to prevent the ffxi process from reading other processes, it cannot, and since it cannot, it will not be able to tell if you are using windower.

SE technically can't scan your computer for such a process as the windower without your permission.
The only way they could detect a windower is by you telling people about it, and them having a GM check your logs.
But lately, the way they've been getting POS Hackers is by the mass amount of distance they skip at a time. Kind of like, if you go through an area too fast, you get those two "You cannot enter this area." messages. If they find out you've been zoning by skipping out on all that terrain, they can backtrack it and find out you've been hacking, and double whammy you with a windower offense.

Hopefully SE won't figure out a way to safeguard that block, if they do actually read the processes... I mean, PG is basically a brick wall that SE can't get through... All they need to do is try to scan the files, and if they can't, they make the program shutdown POL... Oh wait! PG can block it from terminating programs too!!! Way to go PG!!!! ^-^
And just for the record, I planned that entire post... It was meant to sound like I figured it out midway haha...
But yeah, SE can get around PG easily if they wanted to...

there should have been a windower included from the begining. SE seems to think that making it forced fullscreen makes game play better, makes customers happy, and somehow magically stops third party applications. god damn morons.
