here ill paste one here for ya
Leathercraft 0-90
0-2:
Sheep Leather: Sheepskin + Windurstian Tea Leaves + Distilled Water + Dark Crystal
Save them. You'll won't be gaining much but you'll lose quite a lot of time (or even gil if you buy them later).
2-4:
Sheep Wool: Sheepskin x2 + Wind Crystal
If you have clothcraft up to the level, you can turn these into Wool Threads. Otherwise, you can sell them off for profit if you buy the skins from Guild NPC or farm them.
4-7:
Rabbit Mantles: 5 Rabbit Hides + Grass Thread + Earth Crystal
I highly recommend you farm for your rabbit hides with a level 15+ Thief. They drop like candy and you can easily have several stacks in only a few hours!
7-11:
Solea: Sheep Leather x2 + Wind Crystal
Desynth them afterwards to try and save on materials. Try to have lightning moghancement if you can for best results.
0-10:
First, make Sheep Wool (2 Sheepskins + Wind crystal) or Sheep Leather (Windurstian Tea Leaves + Distilled Water + Sheepskin + Dark Crystal). Sheep Leather will take you to skill level 2 only but I suggest you make it and keep all the leather you make. Then from 2-4, make Sheep Wool and sell the stacks off for some gil return. After that, gather some Yagudo Bead necklaces and break them down into Grass Threads* (a stack or two might be enough). Now take earth crystals and start killing rabbits/hares outside in Ronfaure. When you get 5 rabbit hides, use them to make Rabbit Mantles (5 Rabbit Hides + Grass Thread + Earth Crystal) until your skill reaches 7. Now is the time to use all those Sheep Leather you've been saving up. Use them to make Soleas (2 Sheep Leather + Wind Crystal). This will result in some loss if you buy the Sheepskins or Sheep Leathers. This will work till skill level 10-11. The test for removing the cap at this level is Cesti.
Alternative recommended by Trema:
Make Vagabond Gloves and Boots from 0-10.
My own comment about it:
This is a little slower way raise skill but more profitable then what I did once they sell. It works best if people on your server actually know how useful the Vagabond set is at low levels.
Note: If you still have Sheep Leather left over, don't sell them. Keep reading to
find out why.
11-17:
Lizard Cesti: Lizard Skin + Cesti + Earth Crystal
Make these for only a few skill levels (maybe 13 or 14) and then start on the Dhalmel Leathers. If you can, mule these to save money later.
11-21:
Dhalmel Leather: Dhalmel Hide + Windurstian Tea Leaves + Distilled Water + Dark Crystal
A lot of failures at skill 11 but possible to make it. Also for future references, i'll just list the type of hide/skin used in making the leather as all recipes to make any type of leather is the same.
Optional Step 15-22:
Leather Ring: Dhalmel Leather + Wind Crystal
If you want, you can convert your Dhalmel Leathers into Leather Rings for more skill. But be prepared to take a loss. You can also try desynthing the Leather rings afterwards to get the hide back.
10-20:
At this point, if you want to gain skills fast, you'll be losing quite a bit of money. You'll begin working with Lizard Skins now. I believe at this point, you can make Fishing Gloves or Fishing Boots. You can make these and sell them off on the AH while gaining skills to pay for the Lizard Skins you bought. They should take you into range of making Lizard Jerkins. If you have any sheep leather left over from before, you can easily make some Lizard Jerkins (3 Lizard skins + Sheep Leather + Earth Crystal) till skill level 20. If you want, you can sell these off on the AH to make a small profit or desynth them using a Lightning Crystal and hope to get your Lizard skins (or sheep leather) back. I think the test for this level was a Lizard Cesti or Lizard Helm (also don't remember, sorry).
Alternative (thanks to Kletian999 and ninvampire): Make Lizard Cestis (Lizard Skin + Cesti) until you can make Dhalmel Leather.
My comment: This is cheaper then making Lizard Jerkins but as Kletian999 said, there might be a little loss. Lizard Jerkins actually sell at a decent rate to other players but since you'll be competing with a lot of other crafters now, making the Lizard Cestis might be a better alternative even if you lose some gil in the process.
Note: You might be able to gain skills from breaking down the Lizard Jerkins as well but it is quite risky. You have a hgih chance of losing the Jerkin altogether.
22-29:
Sandals: Dhalmel Leather + Sheep Leather + Wind Crystal
Only make these until skill 24 or 25. Feel free to sell them or desynth them as you desire as there's not all that much profit here. They're just fillers till you can make Parchments at a decent rate.
22-31:
Parchment: Sheep Leather + Rolanberry + Dark Crystal
If you buy the rolanberries at the vendor in Jeuno, this recipe will be even more profitable. Parchments sell quite well on the AH as they're used for the Bard Quest as well as when making most of the instruments for a Bard.
20-30:
Here, you get a big break. Dhalmel Hides cost about the same price as Lizard Skins but you can gain skills for using up less hides. What you do is make the Dhalmel Hides into Dhalmel Leather (of course). But now, you use these Dhalmel Leathers to and turn them into Leather Rings (Dhalmel Leather + Wind Crystal) to further level your skill. Make these until they stop giving you skill raises. At this point, you'll be able to make Sandals. Make these and sell them back to the guild to take as little a gil loss as possible. This should take you to 30. I think the test item was Dhalmel Mantle (just buy it from the AH since it's cheaper that way).
28-35:
Ram Leather: Ram Skin + Normal Leather Recipe.
Although using a Willow Log instead of a Windurstian Tea Leaf will take you to 36 with the Ram Leathers, it's really not worth it. Save the leathers by the way.
35-43:
Waistbelt: Ram Leather x2 + Grass Thread + Wind Crystal
At the time I was making these, they were making me some money since I made my own Ram Leather. I sold them to the NPC at a profit.
30-40:
You should still be able to make Sandals at this level. You can try making shoes if you want but that needs some weaving for more successes. But keep checking the advisor (advanced image support person) to see when they say you're able to make Parchments (Sheep Leather + Rolanberry + Dark Crystal). When you're able to make Parchments, you're free to sell of any Dhalmel Leather you've made so far and concentrate on making these. You can get Rolanberries for 120-150 gil each in Upper Jeuno item shop (as well as some other NPC stores). You can then sell these for some good gil since Parchments are needed in order to complete the Bard Flag quest. You can keep making Parchments until they stop giving skill raises or start making Ram Leather after a while. If you don't mind hunting for the rams (Level 25+ to beat them solo), you can make even more profit out of these then any other recipe so far. I recommend sticking with the Parchments for now though. Also, if you're more worried about raising your skill then making money, save any ram leathers you make at this point. The test was a Magic Belt I think.
43-49:
Ram Mantles: Ram Skin + Wool Thread + Ice Crystal
You should desynth them afterwards to try and get the wool thread back. This way you save more gil from not having to buy the threads again. Of course sometimes you'll only get the skin back but that's ok too. This is not a profitable stage by the way.
Alternate 43-44:
Cuir Trousers: Ram Leather x2 + Beeswax + Leather Trousers + Water Crystal
Save these up for later as you'll need them to make Raptor Trousers. If you can, try to make your own Ram Leathers and Beeswaxes. You can easily buy the Leather Trousers in the armor shops.
49-52:
Himantes: Lizard Cesti + Raptor Skin + Earth Crystal
If you saved those Lizard Cesti's earlier, now's the time to use them. The main problem with this recipe is finding the Lizard Cestis in stock. But this is MUCH cheaper then Raptor's Mantle or other recipes around this point.
Alternate 49-55:
Moccasins: Dhalmel Leather + Linen Cloth + Raptor Skin + Earth Crystal
If you didn't save the Lizard Cestis or you don't have any more in supply, you can make this recipe. If you want, you can sell these off slowly on the AH for profit since it's used in WHM AF boots quest.
Alternate 49-54:
Raptor Trousers: Raptor Skin x2 + Cuir Trousers + Earth Crystal
If you made some Cuir Trousers earlier or don't mind making your own Cuir Trousers, this recipe will save you more gil. (Thanks to Nemes for finding this one.)
40-50:
If you still have the Ram Leathers you've been making, you can turn them into Waistbelts (2 Ram Leather + Grass Thread + Wind Crystal). You can sell these back to the guild shop or NPC (whichever pays more at the time) and make some gil back as well as skill gains. I believe you can break these down back into Ram Leather as well but I didn't bother. Instead, use the money you make selling these off to buy more Ram Skins and make more Waistbelts. They'll only take your skill level to 43 though. From here until skill level 49, you can make Ram Mantles (Ram Skin + Wool Thread + Ice Crystal). I recommend you break them down with a Lighting Crystal as they don't sell well at all (To an NPC or to other players). This way, you might be able to save yourself a Wool Thread as well as maybe gain skill from it. At 49 begins the Raptor Skin stage. If you have Treasure Hunter (1 or 2) and time, you can kill off Raptors in Meriphataud Mountains (level 30+ if you want to stand a good chance) to get Raptor skins. Make Himantes (Lizard Cesti + Raptor Hide) or Moccasins (Linen Cloth + Dhalmel Leather + Raptor Hide). The Himantes is easier to make but you lose more then you would if you make Moccasins. It might also be a good idea to raise your weaving a bit to make your own Linen Cloths at this point. This will save you a LOT of money. The test at this level might've been Warrior's Belt (I really don't keep track of these >.>;).
52-61:
Tiger Leather: Tiger Hide + Normal Leather Recipe
Save them if you can. Sell them if you want.
50-60:
Continue making Moccasins until skill level 52-55. From here on, make make Black Tiger Leathers. You can turn the Tiger Leathers into Hard Leather Rings for more skill gains. This will take you to 60 easily. The test for here is the Raptor Mantle.
61-62:
Hard Leather Ring: Tiger Leather + Wind Crystal
You can sell these or desynth them. Not much else to say about this. Save any extra leathers if you can as well.
62-69:
Beak Jerkin: Cockatrice Skin x2 + Sheep Leather + Earth Crystal
I suggest only making these until skill 64 or 65. The gil you'll be spending on this will be about the same as the Coeurl Leather recipes. But you'll get a lot of failures for Coeurl Leather early on so it's a good idea to use this as a filler.
62-71:
Coeurl Leather: Coeurl Hide + Normal Leather Recipe
Save these up as well. There never seem to be enough hides to skill through here fast so feel free to try to hunt for a bunch yourself.
60-70:
You can make Hard Leather Rings from the Tiger Leather up to 62 so you don't need to worry yet. But after this, things start to pick up in pricing. Unless you hunt for your own Coeurl Hides or don't mind spending 2-3k on them, you might want to make Beak Jerkins till skill level 69. However, if you do decide to take the path of Coeurl Hides, don't sell the Leathers (unless you don't mind gaining skill slower). Use the Leathers to make Coeurl Cestis from around skill level 64 or so. The test for this level is Battle Boots.
71-72:
Coeurl Cesti: Cesti + Coeurl Leather + Earth Crystal
Sell these off to the NPC as they sell slowly on the AH (if at all). Save any leftover Coeurl Leathers as well.
72-79:
Tiger Jerkin: Tiger Leather x2 + Sheep Leather + Earth Crystal
Mix this recipe up with making Coeurl Gorgets and Manticore Leathers. They sell rather slowly but for a profit on the AH. I just sell mine off to the NPC since it's not worth the time/slots I lose.
Alternate 72-79:
Coeurl Gorget: Coeurl Hide + Cotton Thread + Earth Crystal
Just mix it in with the Jerkins and Leathers.
72-80:
Manticore Leather: Manticore Hide + Normal Leather Recipe
Save em up. You'll be needing them.
70-80:
This set of levels was a little tricky since I was experimenting a lot. The cheapest way to get close to 80 during this time was to make Tiger Jerkins (can profit if sold on AH). There was less of a loss if you made your own Tiger Leather of course. However, i've noticed that making Manticore Leather, was giving me better skill gains. It might've been the day I would synth on maybe but if you want to skill gain faster, you might want to go with Manticore Leathers. However, due to the difficulty of Manticores, there might not be all too many hides up for grabs. Another recipe that proved to be useful for a while was Coeurl Gorgets. I pretty much mixed together the three to get up to 80 with making only Manticore Leather from 79-80. Tiger Jerkin and Coeurl Gorget cap at skill 79 while Manticore Leather caps at 80. The test for this level was Tiger Gloves.
80-88:
Coeurl Gloves: Cuir Gloves + Coeurl Leather + Earth Crystal
Only recommended if you plan on making the Cuir Gloves yourself or have someone else make them for you. Save these to turn into Ogre Gloves.
Alternate 80-83:
Air Solea: Light Soleas + Lizard Molt + Wind Crystal
Very little profit but still possible to make profit from these if you sell on the AH.
88-89:
Ogre Gloves: Coeurl Gloves + Manticore Leather + Earth Crystal
Sell them off to the NPC or on the AH but doesn't seem to sell too well on the AH.
Alternate 80-89:
Coeurl Jerkin: Coeurl Leather x2 + Sheep Leather + Earth Crystal
More expensive then the Coeurl Gloves...but since Coeurl Leathers are easier to find in mass, some of you might prefer this path. They don't sell too well on the AH on my server so I vendored any I made.
80-90:
If you're not comfortable with taking some losses at first, I recommend you make the Air Soleas until 82 or 82 (or even 83) first. I got sick of making these near 82 because they sold SOOO slowly. I got lucky and had a shellmate around skill 35ish make a bunch of these (so they can gain skill as well) for me to turn into Coeurl Gloves. If you can't find anyone, it'll be slow and you might prefer using the Coeurl Jerkin method instead. At 89, you can start making the Tiger Masks or whatever happens to cheap and/or profitable at this stage for you. Test for this was Coeurl Mask.
Note: All hides/skins into leather recipes are pretty much the same. You can replace Windurstian Tea leaves with Willow Logs if you want, but I find this to be more expensive.
