 May 11 update : FFXI General Discussions

Supposedly they're making some balance adjustments in advance of the level cap increase.
Refresh will be a self-only spell, in line with most of the other RDM spells being single or self-oriented.
Paladins will lose their Cover ability, someone at SE was quoted saying "!@#$%^&*, if they lose hate, they shouldn't be a PLD in the first place". Change should save 10-15k overhead in the client.
Changes are happening to SATA. Due to complaints from Goblins that they were obviously able to see the Galka Thf hiding behind the Tarutaru DRG, you will no longer be able to SATA onto a player smaller than yourself.
In a change to address compliance issues with the American Disabilities Act, voice control will be added to allow game play by users without hands. To address potential balance issues in PVP play, all users will be required to use voice control. Plush tarutaru microphone kits will be available from the Playonline website for $30 with proof of current registration.
A new Male Mithra design will be introduced with the next patch. Existing mithra will be converted to the Male design, since the last Vanadiel census indicated that 99% of mithras were played by men. The remaining 1% can petition to have their sex changed at a clinic open in South San D'Oria through the end of July.
Due to local indecency laws, you will no longer be allowed to "Cyber for Gil". Cybering for a cutscene, and a mithkabob, or among married couples, will be permitted, pending GM review of your chatlog.
