Question about security and premium membership : FFXI General Discussions

Heya, been considering becoming a premium member for some time now, but I have a question:

I've always worried about account security, (eg. dling Mrargus off the site and getting a password stealing trojan) has there ever been any problems like this? Is code scanned before it is allowed to be submitted to the site?

(Don't know if you can answer this, but is Mrargus and Fleetool downloadable by the premium members? Thank you.)

people occasionally try to submit a trojan file but this is pointed out quickly so people do not download it. there is always the risk of that happening but as far as i know this has not happened on this site. just have a good antivirus (not norton) installed and you prob wont get a virus

those two tools are available to download here usually but there are also other places you can download it free if you wanted elsewhere on the internet. you are not purchasing the hacks that people may post on this site. you are paying for the scripting engine and thats about it. there are other smaller stuff but the main thing is the engine

I appreciate your fast and informative response, looks like I'll be signing up for premium membership ^.^ Main two things I am after is Fleetool and Argus, I'll be rather honest.

However, I prefer to get it from a site like this that screens the files to some extent to minimize the chance of an infection. A long time ago I got an infected version of FF Assist, so I've always been careful.
