since the patch has fishing guides changed?? : FFXI General Discussions

i am just wondering since the new patch, fishing has changed, does that mean that fishing guides needs update??

I would say no but you would want to target fish closer to your level (3-4lvls) to get more consistent skillups. That's been my experience so far.

Probably one of the biggest changes is that you can use the wooden poles more often. They were made more durable and wear out the fish noticably faster. Another one of the chages you should note is that under the new gain system, fishing in town nets gains almost as fast as fishing out of town pre patch.
