 Synthing hack??? : FFXI General Discussions

As most of you have noticed the JP seem to have outdone themself's again. On my server the JP are HQing synths like crazy. You check their comments and they have some random numbers in it. It has been speculated by several ppl that this is some kind of hack that will tell you if your gonna HQ a synth or not. I've seen the JP HQ a 90+ synth with multiple sub crafts 8-11 tries. And they all have these random numbers in their comment. We believe its a script of some sort that will let you know your chances of HQ. Anyone that can add some light to this please let post.

I bet the random numbers in their comments are what level their skills are at. Take a screenshot.

I'm not going to say "it's impossible". That would be plain silly.
I just say "highly unlikely".
If SE would be clever, and I have no reason to doubt it, when you attempt a synth you send the relevant data to the server, which is just the crystal you are using and the ingredient list, as any other factor that could affect the outcome is already known by the server and is stored server side (weather, moon phase, day of the week, equipment, buffs, location, whatever...) the server calculates the result, send the data of the outcome to the client and voila! you get the animation and the item or the lost.
The few real "hacks" I've seen so far work on what the server trusts from the client, like relative position, moving speed, character status...
If the JP are HQ-ing what likes than "more than usual" I'd go for what in the Alla forums we called "The Eruntalon Code"
Eruntalon The Wise, a former player and notorious member of the forums claimed that, through uncountable tests and observation he managed to isolate most, or at least enough, factors involved in an HQ synth, thus being able to determine which conditions were optimal for a given synth, and 1 shot HQ it.
He also admitted he wasn't the only one to reach this level of mastery on his art, neither was the first one.
The exact circumstancies are unknown for the most of us, we all have pieces of information that help us better understand crafting and through the same methods he used we have been able to get closer and closer to the target.
But as Asl18fs he was no friend of lazy people and leeches that can't do things for themselves and want everything pre-digested and pre-packed, so he never published his findings to a complete extent.
In a nutshell, predicting optimum circumstancies to HQ a given synth is not a hack, is part of the game.
HQing any synth under any circumstancies must be a hack, but unless the method used by SE differs greatly from my assumption I don't see a way you can tamper with it.

Im pretty sure i saw a calculator for this, something to do with degrees from north /day xskill and then something to do with moon phrase, i forget, it was a long time ago when i was thinking about getting this game.
