Upcoming update... : FFXI General Discussions

Ok so I was on XI today and I was hearing abour this exp change update. So I go to the site and find out its legit >< There has to be some sort of compensation for the amount of exp people have worked for bein taken off like this. They should just put you at the level you deserve when they switch the exp amount instead of puttin u @1. Also, for 75s, this is pretty unfair so they need to have that amount of exp to use for dying and not losing much exp and what not. I'm sorry but this is probably one of the stupidest changes SE has ever made. Now if every1 was <50 then I'd be fine with it but this is insane. Also, there will be two more things messed up, there will be the REAL 75s and the fake 75s. You won't be able to tell who is more expirienced. Then finally gettin your level up won't feel like as much of an accomplishment as it is now/was before, high level people r guna suck too because they won't have as good of eq because they won't have the time to make it. I apologise by the way if any of my post comes off as a prediction but thats how i interpreted what was on playonline.com I sorta need some1 to give me a reason why this is alright...sorta bringin me down :/

Mostly sounds like whine whine whine to me.

If they're not decent players by level 50 they won't be it by 75 either, that's pretty much it. NA players are finally becoming decent to party with and that's because they're on their second or third job! Not because they're gimped their way past stuff.

The lowered exp probably won't mean all too much. If people could level from 50-75 in 25 days before they'll be able to do it in 20 after. They still have merit points to work on once they become 75 too.

And finally, this means instead of hnm ls wanting level 70+ people they'll want level 75 people, that's good.

Most NA players weren't good because they didn't pay attention, not because they couldn't do it. What's finally happening is they are realizing you can't just muddle your way through groups in this game and get good results. They are realizing you have to give a group your full attention to give them your best lvl of play.

I for one like the idea that they make it easier to LVL. As for the ones that are LVL 75. That all good that they made it the hard way but having LVL 75 does not make you anybetter. Some of the worst players I have seen are 75 trying to LVL another Job and some of the Best players too.

If you are good your good at any LVL regardless. Lvl has nothing to do with the ability of the player. If you suck no matter how high your lvl is you will still Suck.

You should be good at any LVL you play in. You should also never be so ignorant to think your good just because you got lvl 75. I have heard so many times well im lvl 75 and they just suck at the game. You sit their and wonder how in the hell did this idiot make it that far.

you kinda freaked me out with the whole "fake 75" thing lol, I went and read the article...seems like SE just wants more players to experience the fun of gods and HNMs. The game is aging, and the excitement of xping I guess is dropping...though i still find it fun.

Oh well...I dont think exping for a mere maybe 30hrs less will effect players' ability to know what to do, and be "fake 75's" or anything like that hehe

i dunno about the whole lvl 75 quicker thing. i just got lvl 57 and i'm kinda glad it'll take me a while to lvl gives me more time to farm and sell stuff so i can buy the stuff i need instead being "Gimped" <not having the current spells/ armor> so i guess i'm in between, because all the money maker oportunities post lvl 60 can be good i suppose....

it's a nice idea, for me I would suggest that people at 75 should get what every left over xp sent to as merrits. Not sure it can happend though. but hey I had fun getting to 75 rdm will be nice. Just 12k in lv, I'm just gonna wait and see where they put me. cause I want to play something else right now. I fell in love with Final WS. But yeah I not gonna care if They just do updates anyway they want. The only thing is that most people at 75 will feell everyone else not deserve it and might be calling some body else n00b cause they got a handout. Well gonna wait and see. Would be nice If i get even 20k xp out of it. Cause for all the demands i get from people, My box is full with help messages hehe. This will cut down in things to do and will just concentrate on merrits next. We'll see.

Well the xp problem only a pain when you are lving alone as BST. It can get very lonely and frustrated. expeciaaly when you die, you loose about and hr worth of wrk there expecially in deserted area where no1 caomes around to raise. So i can see the point there. They should change the way BsT loose XP and Gain XP.

The change is ok, as for it will make it a game of play rather than a game of leveling. This is evident with all of the level capped areas.

My only reservation is for those who have multiple jobs they leveled to 75. It would seem some compenstaion should be made for the difference in required experience, for instance just convert the overage into merit points.

I guess it isn't looking too bad now. Still just seems like it isn't a totally fair idea for SE to carry out. I'm sure ill get used to it, and eventually even like the change. Well we'll c tomorrow ^^ l8a all.

Now that I think of it this might be bad in lots of ways. For one thing I got In lS doing Dyna,is, not a bad thing but it is when you have 15+ rdm trying to get the same thing. So the problem is now if you can get easy lv. Even more people to compete with for one drop. One thing I hate is staying around for hours on for just something that i cant get.
