Used POS mining, Account Suspended. : FFXI General Discussions

So here I am very excited that I can hit up every point in Newton Mov. and make a very nice chunk of cash (Using POS). Next thing you know, Im in Jail.

There was not another person in there!! How is it that the GMs have detected me?? I was reading the forums and was pretty sure POS was nearly undetectable.

The only thing I can think of was the japanese players reported me (i've seen a couple that have used the same tool). Other than that, is it possible for the GMs to really detect POS??

I've asked the GM how he detected me and of course "we can't disclose our methods".

Major bummer... I've only used POS for 2 days ><

Im thinking maybe I should use another account for hacks and stuff. Do I need to buy another game for different POL ID? or Can I just purchase another POL id?

The prices of items these days are ridiculous! Other than buying gil, how can anyone even afford 1/2 the gear? I used the tools on this site to help combat the inflation going on in all servers... and I'm the one that gets the suspension ; ;.

Sorry for the rant... need some advice as to what to do. New ID or assume its safe to use POL so long as I dont get spotted?

sorry for your loss but that's the risk we all take when using something found here. I'm not sure how detectable POS is because I've never used it or done much research on it. I'm guessing a GM was monitoring the area and happened to notice you jumping around? Newton and Ifrit are both well known POS miner heavens and I have heard that GM's tend to watch these areas now.

I was fishing the other day in bastok market channel way and a GM sent me a /tell out of the blue. Asked me, "{English} {Japanese}". I replied English. They then asked if I am having any problems learning how to play the game. I said, I would hope a 75WHM knows how to play the game ^^. They replied, "If you have questions be sure to ask". When I said Thank you ... my /tell was not recieved like they made it so I could not message them anymore.

Maybe they are randomly looking for people using fishbot and mining bots now as well? Maybe he thought I was an account buyer because I was a 75whm fishing O.o ?

It's not so bad. My first offense only a 72hr suspension.

Altho now Im really leary about using any hacks/cheats/bots. It would really suck tho if my account was a perm ban...

A tool like pos is almost trivial to detect serverside. I think the major reason you don't get instabanned when using it is they're careful on how hard to apply the rules.
WoW has already shown that if you're too strict with the banning some innocents get caught.

Whine whine whine. Get some friends and do ENM and BCNM battles, then you'll be selling items at those ridiculous prices.

Oh, and if you can't do ENM / BCNM then you've completely misunderstood one of the base elements of the game: make friends.

Combat inflation by using hacks to get gil easy. Nice.

It happend to me yesterday. I was a lvl 3 thief ( mule) warping from sandy to newton. i got to newton multiple times. and i was like OMG im rich. i died, like my 7th time, i was going back to newton from valkurm(where i set my homepoint) then once i was gonna zone into newton . i zoned into mordion. so i just logged off went to my main and sent eerything valuble i had to a friend then logged off for the night. i came back the next day my account wasnt banned. i went to my mule and it was still in jail. i called a GM to get me out he said he cant and is forced to gimme a 3 day suspension. and this is my 2nd time i get caught. maybe im gonna get terminated, but till then i bought a new copy lol. but all my money and luisant gear is safe with my friend. Thank god!

So what server are you on spazz, if you don't mind me asking.

Good idea to send the valuable to ur friend. Im gonna do that after my suspension too. But... you guys think buying another copy for cheats is worth it? $30... lol Im a cheap bastard.

I would also like for other members to share how they manage to keep hacks on the downlow (besides the obvious sneak/invis).
