Some rumor is flying about that someone warped into a zone that technically wasn't active yet and activated a Runic portal...
Now its just a rumor however I can see that being true because in Aht Urghan Whitegate, there is that Imperial Gate in the eastern most area in Whitegate that leads to ( I believe) the Empire of Aht Urghan. If you ever stood at the docks in Whitegate and looked to your east, you will see what looks to be a rather large palace. Also, if you look on the besiged map there is a region to the east of "West Aht Urghan" labeled Empire of Aht Urghan however there is no sub city points that pop up on the map when you scroll over it. I've been wanting to POS myself past that Imperial Gate however been afraid to.. Not only that but POS past some of the locked doors in Whitegate.
As for the maintenence today (June 20th) its a follow up more than likely cause after every maintenence to "fix" something, they inadvertantly end up breaking something else, and it takes two to three extra maintenences to fix their mess lol

Alzdaal undersea ruins, from it's name it sounds like an abandoned ruins. from its connection to so many different zones it's unlikely that palace to east can be alzdaal.

You can use Launchpad (Tobihane) to warp to any location you click on the map. I used it to warp to the central part of the Alzadaal Undersea Ruins zone (another unreachable zone) which connects to almost all the outdoor ToAU zones like Bhaflau Thickets. They are the entrances blocked by immortals. I looked at the map on ffxi-atlas.com and checked my <pos> to determine where I was and find the far eastern part of the Nyzul Isle section of Alzadaal Ruins. There is a staging point there that is inactive.
You would then need to use MrArgus to set your target as the untargetable event markers that activate the portals. Apparently tho, after the emergency update SE made it so that untargettable NPCs will lock your character up if you try to activate them. People also speculate that it also sends a red flag to the GMs.
