XosirisX Cooking Guide From Lvl 1-60 : FFXI General Discussions

Welcome to XosirisX’s Cooking Walkthrough. This I found is the Best and Most Cost Effective way to level your cooking skill too level 60. First of all I would like to say Food does not pay off real soon. Actually the first money you’ll make is the Insect Balls, and mostly that supported the rest of my Cooking habits. Also fishing is also something nice to have to any level, but I request you get fishing to about level 10 before you continue. The reason I ask this is that Fishing lets you get from Cooking 3 – 17 For practically nothing. Also as a General Rule of Thumb, Always use advanced Synthesis its only 30 Gill and can Save you a few Gill in the long run and skill ups for that matter.

Carrot Broth 1-3 Water Crystal-San d'Orian Carrot x4
For this Synthesis you should Start off in San D’oria (Who would of Thought!), Go to
South San d'Oria go Find Aveline at F-7 She sells the carrots for around 22-33 Gill a piece. Through my Experience with these first levels, This NPC never ends with the Carrots. Get about 4-5 Stacks of Water Crystals and Start in on this easy Skill up. It wont run you up very much money and just sell the broths back to the NPC for little loss.
As soon as you hit Skill Level 3 Its time to move to Windy.

Sliced Sardine 3-11 Wind Crystal- Bastore Sardine x1
This is where my Fishing Skill Comment comes in nicely! Go to Port Windy go to the fishing guild, Get a Rod and Rig. Then fish up some Nice Bastore Sardines in Clumps of 1-3. Now if you got money to burn Buy them at the Auction House or from Babubu at the same fishing guild. Get some Wind Crystals and then start Synthesis. If you want you can farm Beehive chips and have signet for Wind Crystals off Giant Bees. Then pass those Chips into Tapoh Lihzeh (I - In Windy Woods good for fame, while getting wind crystals.

Ok now, this is another area you could use that fishing. At the huge Tree in Windy Woods. You’ll often see people Camping here Fishing Moat Carps. Also if you Just started leveling Fishing Moat Carps are Perfect from like 1- 10. If you did Save all of them cause your going need them for this. The only Downside of this is that your going to lose big money on selling them. A Stack of Moat Carp Cost about 4k and Wind Crystals 3k You can sell a Stack of Slice Carp for about 800 Gill at the Auction house.
Brutal. But if you did what I said and Fished and Farmed. These levels will cost you nothing anyways so Lets Move on!

Apple Juice 17- 20 Water Crystal -Faerie Apple x4
You can either Purchase or Grow these Apples.
Fruit Seeds + Light crystal + Water =Faerie Apple
Also Purchase them off the Cooking Guild in Windy Waters for about 56 Gill.
Not to bad at all, and you only have to do this for 3 Levels!
Stick in there Here comes the payoff.

Ooooooo Baby! First off I would like to Point out that this Creates 12 Balls a Synthesis.

Millioncorn:

The only way you can buy corn from an NPC is if either the Norvallen or Aragoneu region is NOT under Beastman control. You can check this by going to Map > Region Info and scrolling around until you find Norvallen and Aragoneu.

If a city DOES control Norvallen or Aragoneu, this is where you can find an NPC that will sell you corn... (NOTE: ONLY a city that controls one (or both) of the regions will have an NPC that sells the corn... i.e., if Bastok currently controls Norvallen, and Aragoneu is controlled by Beastmen, you must go to the Bastok NPC to purchase corn.)

*** It seems some info I had gathered is outdated... if anyone knows the regional vendors for Norvallen in Bastok and Windurst, reply to this post please (^_^);

Or Grow it Ceramic: Grain - Wind - None

Distilled Water – 12 Gill Taajiji In Windy Waters for 12 Gill.

With that Information I based that this Costs about 140 Gill to Synthesis. Now in order to get from level 20-29 your Going to need to DO a lot. If you sell in Jeuno and I Suggest you invest in a mule or 2 lol….. You can make anywhere between 700-800 Gill Off each Synthesis!! Sweet Deals!!!
These things sell fast like… Fast Fast! So you can Auction House them or Bazaar them its up to you.







Pineapple Juice 29-30 Water Crystal- Kazham Pineapple x2

Quick Level, who doesn’t like Pineapples. Get if off the Cooking Guild Sales Person in Windy Waters. Give these to your Mage Friends. They will send you /Cheer ‘s
And /Smile ‘s Well at least mine did.

Fish Broth 30-37 Water Crystal -Bastore Sardine x4

Back to the Fishing Guild in Port Windy. Fish yourself some more Bastore Sardines.
Water Crystal them and sell them to the NPC. Done and Done.

Tomato Juice 37-43 Water Crystal -Rock Salt x1, Mithran Tomato x3

Now, The Tomato’s can be purchased at the Cooking Guild Sales person. Has anyone been noticing a Pattern here? Kopopo has them!! She is one Little Taru isn’t she. Oooo and if your impartial to the Taru race Fomina at Windy Waters Also sells them. She’s a Hume at D-8! They go for about 36-50 Gill. Rock Salt Drops off Crabs like….. Rock Salt off Crabs….. I threw so many of these away *Sigh* Well Guess who Carries these
Kopopo in the Cooking Guild. Also the Elusive Lebondur in Port Windy at F - 6 Sells these Bad boys. I also found that the Cooking Guild Runs out Quickly. But this Elvan in Port Windy Keeps them in good Stock!

Apple Pie 43-48 Fire Crystal -Faerie Apple x1, Lizard Egg x1, Cinnamon x1, Maple Sugar x1, Pie Dough x1

These I Find sell well if you got a Mule to go to Valkurm they aren’t to Expensive to make. Everyone loves pie, If you got money Give them to your Mage Friends for More
/cheer’s and /smile’s .
Now… Guess who Carries Stuff for this Synthesis. Your Favorite Taru by now.

But… she lacks in the Maple Sugar Department. Goto Benaige in South San D’oria at
F-7 for this get A Good few Stacks so you don’t make Trips. I learned the hard way.

Beaugreen Sautee 48-55 Fire Crystal -Selbina Butter x1, Beaugreens x1

This stuff here is Weird it says that Vit -1 and Agi + 2. But its also Rumored that these bad boys add +15 Ranged Accuracy 
The Butter as you already may know can be obtained from Kopopo, and its always in there. She also sells the Beaugrenns. But one Downside….. she wont Buy them back….
(Insert Random Curse’s) Try and sell them at the Auction House or eat them or something.


Yagudo Drink 55-60 Dark Crystal -Yagudo Cherry x1, Buburimu Grape x3

This is your Aiming Point lvl 60!

Cherries and Grapes – Ahyeekih Windy Waters H-10
Yagudo Cherries = Earthn Pot = Fruit - Fire - Fire
