Ok.. so I was running the radar minimized so it just overlayed over the screen while camping King Behemoth tonight. I got lucky and guesed exactly where he would spawn. I specifically saw the point on the radar where KB died last vanish and appear in front of me, I even called it out on Ventrillo to my LS.
However, it was maybe two seconds before I saw a King Behemoth on my screen that I could actually target (and by that time, it was too late.)
I wonder if that is how the Japanese have been beating us all this time? I know when I am in Jueno it takes forever to wait for a friend of mine to pop, but I can type /ta Whoever and target their invisible body. I think obviously the server sends data about people and their positions long before it gives the data with enough information to actually display them on the screen.
I can cast spells on people in my party that haven't spawned yet.. I do this all the time when I zone into BCNMs and I land a prelude, or refresh, or whatever by just hitting F2 and then my macro.
I think to a certain extint this must be true with NPCs, why not? I know the XU team really hates to actively modify memory as its a good way to get caught.. however, I am more than willing to take that risk at this point. Can somebody please find where in memory or whatever where the current target is stored. Or does anyone know?

Play with FPS (Frags Per Second) settings when hunting NM.
IE, as crappy graphic/sound etc settings as you can set to get the best performance from your comp,
Resolution, shadows, texture, FoV, music, sound, etc etc that can be tuned down or turned off.
That's what I do, and hell yes there's a diff compared to running around
with high resolution, textures, shading, antialias, and so on...

I don't think it takes my computer 3 seconds to figure out how to draw King Behemoth.

bleach";p="60021 (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): I don't think it takes my computer 3 seconds to figure out how to draw King Behemoth. Check the loading speed of models in jueno. Then consider those are most likelly in your disk cache already.
The display time is probably also somewhat delayed.

Either way, you' are just proving my point.. if its loading that means it is there and there should be a way to force ffxi to target it. Just like you can target players that are not loaded yet.

Ok, i'll straight up paypal $100 to Wyvern or whoever that can find the memory address where the current target is stored, and shows a workable way to insert a mobid or targetindex in there and provoke it.
