Just thought I'd like to share a little trick I found out while playing around with blm in the dunes. I'm not sure if it is well known or has been shared already, but I just found it a little fun. It is simple so more than likely everyone does it, but oh well, this is for those who don't
Go to an area that has thf/rng type mobs, such as the thf goblins in the dunes, that tend to always ranged attack you when you are out of its hitting range. Now what I do is I cast a spell on that gob to pull it, and take it to a something that will obstruct its view from you. This is what I used:
What you do is fairly simple. You lock your target onto the mob, so that you can strafe left and right. You keep yourself on opposite sides of the hill from the mob (dont stand too far from the hill and dont stand right up against it either). What will happen is the gob will never hit you and constantly stop to ranged attack you because it thinks you are out of range. Ranged attacks will only do like 6 damage on a lv 15 blm instead of taking 40 dmg hits from its regular attacks.
As soon as it stops to take a shot at you, blast him with a blm spell, then continue juggling him back and forth making sure to stay on opposite sides, and he will ALWAYS stop to ranged attack you. I did this against T mobs for quite a while and got a lot of levels solo pretty fast. I'm not sure if other besides blm could do it, but rdm might as long as you have enough mp to finish him off. Also I wouldn't try it on mobs harder than "tough" good luck!
