[Gold][b]The novices guide to FFXI[/Gold][/b]
Introduction
You heard stories about novices being called n00bs, insulted and made fun off? The horror stories about a area called "Valkurm dunes"? You are afraid to not understand the game mechanics, ethics, unwritten rules? Don't worry! I'm here to help, so I'm writing this guide for all you need to know!!
What do i need for FFXI?
1) A working credit card.
2) A Internet browser, without

4) A knowledge of l337s|>3/-\|<. Leetspeak is highly apreciated in FFXI online, and will show veteran users that you are familiar with the game, causing a lot of respect for you.
How to start FFXI
First, visit
www.ig[White]e[/White].com. Buy 5-10 million gil. This is highly encouraged as buying gil shows you are dedicated enough to the game to pay real money for it, and you will be respected by the high levels (They all buy gil as well, so it's kind of a community).
Pick a name like Omgsefroth, xXlolbifronssXx, Therealcloud. If you are a female, pick "Aeristhemage", Tifaris, or Theonlyrealaeris. FF7 is really revered by the final fantasy community, and using such a name will show your knowledge of the FF7 characters.
Next, pick "White mage" as your job. This is required, starting as another job is not required. Only buy the spells "Cure" "Cure II" and "Cure III", as the enfeebling and enhancing magic are useless (Remember FFVII? FF11 is just like that, all status spells suck).
Playing FFXI - A world online
Remember to always complement female players in a arousing way, as the only girls that play FFXI are oversexed, beautiful 16 year olds, while their ugly peers go out and lead a blasphemic existence known as "Real life", doing stuff like going out and dating guys without using a Internet connection as a medium for talking.
A good sentence would be:

This will show that you are not a tight assed person that cares for proper capitalization and punctuation, demonstrating you are really literate in the whole gamer scene.
Once you're done, go outside and kill some rabbits with your onion rod - don't buy a club for soloing, it's highly overrated. Never mind that you are massacring poor, non agressive animals - if you could strangle rabbits in real life for a message like "You receive 50 experience points", I'm sure you would do it too.
Make sure to throw away any beastmen seals, as they cannot be used or sold. They are just a item SE made to annoy you, adding extra challenge having to throw them, or you lose drops. They can't be sold either.
Level up to about level 11, than go to valkurm dunes. If you get a invite to a party in buburimu
Penisula, or maze of shakharmi, reply no, but include the words stfu, gtfo and omfg in the sentance. Something like:
STFU NOOB, HOMO I FUC[White]K[/White]ED YOURE MOMMA LOL!!! GTFO GET A LIFE!!! Also, make sure to properly place the words. For example, "Homo, i fuc[White]k[/White]ed your momma lol" is a very strong argument. The sentence "Mother, i fuc[White]k[/White]ed a homo" is not.
Getting a sub job
The worm and apron will drop in parties. The best way to get a skull is to choose a mithra character. /tell random people above level 40, offering cybersex for a skull.
Once you obtain your skull, and the guy (Or lesbian girl) asks for some kitty loving, pull the plug from your modem. Reconnect in 20 minutes, and get your sub job.
How to use your sub job.
Now change your main job to warrior, and sub white mage. This is the best sub job for warrior, by far. You can heal yourself, and heal your party, while gaining extra hp because you have a sub job.
Some people will tell you that ninja is a better sub job - do not listen. These people only say this because they are highly obsessed with japan, so of course "Ninja" seems very atractive.
Jungle book
The best weapon you can use as a warrior is a sword or a polearm, some people will tell you to use axe, but this is because their low IQ makes them think like a barbarian. You are a modern man, not a barbarian so you shouldn't use a barbaric weapon like a axe.
Level warrior to level 25. Now will be the time to get your Khazham airship pass. This is easy if you follow my easy steps:
1) Log out.
2) Go to IGE.
3) Buy 500,000 gil.
4) Buy the airship pass at the vendor.
Level on goblins until you are level 27, be sure to use a PL. You have to have a PL, otherwise you cannot get experience. The goblins will take about 10 minutes to kill, but that doesn't matter as you will get 200/kill.
When you are level 28 or so, go to yhoathor jungle. There you will do the same as in the jungle before, until you are 30. Once you are, use provoke on a lizard, die and HP.
Blacklist all members from your party, and unlock either the dark knight or dragoon job. Level this to 75. Also, having a full sub is overrated. A drk or drg75/30war is a fine combo, leveling war again is not needed.
Equipment
Always remember, if it's not +1 it's -1. You must have the best equipment +1, or you will be frowned upon. Buying gil to aquire this equipment is highly encouraged, as you will be respected by the community and you will even help the chinese ecconomy by buying gil.
For example, haubergeon +1 is a must have item, as is a peacock charm and a speed belt.
