My Background(Like you really care that much about me)

I'm a regular FFXI player that has a role-play linkshell. (I know what you're thinking strange...) I mostly hover on the server Kujata since it was the server my friend brought me to when I joined two years ago.

Most people in the linkshell either: A) Don't have a craft and are poor. B) Have a craft and earn tons of gil. C) Have a craft and has some gil.

Well I'm C, I have some money thanks to farming, crafting, beating up innocent Avatars, and teleporting people to various crags.

So anyways, I decided to make my guide after getting stuck at my house due to allergies.

My Strategy

NPC items that you synth when you can help you gain profit and never, NEVER buy from the Auction House unless the price of the ingredient stack is less than that of buying from a regional/town vendor! (Yeah, seriously other than that...you're probably going to lose a bit of monays.)

(Finally! Also, if it looks similar to other guides I guess it is because our servers economy are the same or they're actually picky about making profit like I am sometimes.)
The Guide

Skill Level: 0-3 - Carrot Broth (You will lose money on this synth.)
Water Crystal, 4 San d'Orian Carrot
Note: Just make this in San d'Oria will save you a lot of time

Skill Level: 3-11 - Sliced Sardine (You can earn money on this.)
Wind Crystal, Bastore Sardine
Note: I was fishing in Port Windurst skilling up with a Sabiki Rig and Halcyon Rod, selling the Quus to an NPC/the Guild and keeping the Bastore Sardines.
You should also have done the rank up quest at skill level 8-10 or else once you hit 10 you won't get anymore skill ups.

Skill Level: 11-15 - Bug Broth (You can earn money on this)
Water Crystal, 2 Lugworm, 2 Shell Bug
Note: Please buy the Lugworms from a Regional Merchant or the Fishing Guild.
You can garden/farm/buy the Shell Bugs from the AH if they're around 2,000 gil to make a profit. (I got mine from gardening thanks to failed elemental ores.)

Skill level: 15-20 - Selbina Butter (You might break even)
Ice Crystal, Selbina Milk, Rock Salt
Note: Buy milk from a vendor since sometimes the Cooking Guild will charge up to 200+ gil for one Selbina Milk while vendors can sell a whole stack for under 900 gil.

Skill level: 19-29 - Insect Ball (Profit~! $-$)
Earth Crystal, Millioncorn, Distilled Water, Little Worm
Note: Millioncorns from a Regional Vendor/Cooking Guild if cheap. Distilled Water from the town's bar/restaurant/tavern. Little Worms from the Fishing Guild.
Total cost: Around 68 gil if you have the crystals from partying.

Skill level: 29-39 - Pet Food Delta (Profit~! or Break Even $-$)
Earth Crystal, Rye Flour, Distilled Water, Bird Egg, Land Crab Meat
Note: It sucks doing 10 levels on one recipe, but oh well I did it since my linkshell members were giving me Land Crab Meat from exping in Kuftal Tunnel.

Skill level: 39-42 - Pie Dough (Break Even)
Water Crystal, San d'Orian Flour, Rock Salt, Selbina Butter
Note: If you kept the Selbina Butter from before you were smart to~!

Skill level: 42-46 - Pickled Herring (Profit~! $-$)
Ice Crystal, Nosteau Herring, Dried Marjoram, Rock Salt
Note: I was fishing in Qufim/Port Jeuno(in the airship docks) for Nosteau Herrings and Tiger Cods.

Skill level: 46-50 - Apple Pie (Profit~! $-$)
Bird Egg, Cinnamon, Faerie Apple, Maple Sugar, Pie Dough
Note: You might profit from this you might not depends on your server.

Skill level: 49-52 - Batagreen Sautee (Profit~! $-$)
Fire Crystal, Batagreens, Selbina Butter
Note: If you still have butter from before the pie dough then you're lucky you didn't have to spend extra synthing more. =.=;
You can find Batagreens in the Cooking Guild.

Skill level: 52-60 - Yagudo Drink (Profit~! $-$)
Dark Crystal, Yagudo Cherry, Buburimu Grape
Note: Seriously, I think everyone does this synth at level 60 because you can make so much profit off of this drink.

Skill level: 60-62 - Apple au Lait (Profit~! $-$)
Water Crystal, 2 Faerie Apple, Selbina Milk, Honey
Note: I synthed my honey this is the recipe for it (Wind Crystal, 4 Beehive Chips) you can make up to a whole stack of honey to 4 pots of honey.
I've only done a few synths of this to get me .5 from skill level 60, I'm gonna continue to synth this whenever I get enough time, space, or money to since I am currently swamped with Pie Dough and Insect Balls.

Guild Rank Up Items (You're going to need to make one of these and trade them to the tarutaru that you signed up for the Culinary Guild in Windurst Waters. When you hit the skill level that is next to the item you can go up the next rank by trading the item to the tarutaru.)

8-10 : Salmon Sub Sandwich
(Crying Mustard, Black Bread, Apple Vinegar, La Theine Cabbage, Smoked Salmon, Mithran Tomato)
18-20 : Pea Soup
(3 Blue Peas, Wild Onion, Dried Marjoram, Distilled Water)
28-30 : Vegetable Gruel
(San d'Orian Flour, Chamomile, Frost Turnip, Rarab Tail, Beaugreens, Distilled Water)
or
(Tarutaru Rice, Chamomile, Frost Turnip, Rarab Tail, Batagreens, Distilled Water)
38-40 : Meat Mithkabob
(Kazham Peppers, Cockatrice Meat, Mhaura Garlic, Wild Onion)
or
(Kazham Peppers, Ziz Meat, Mhaura Garlic, Wild Onion)
48-50 : Apple Pie
(Bird Egg, Cinnamon, Faerie Apple, Maple Sugar, Pie Dough)
58-60 : Yagudo Drink
(Dark Crystal, Yagudo Cherry, Buburimu Grape)
68-70+: Unknown since I have not been leveling my craft~

I don't really see how this is different from any of the other cooking guides out there on allakazham and what not. Quite honestly cooking profits are low at best due to all the RMT's out there making this stuff.

Since there's no mention of any actual monetary values, I'm going to have to say /nay.

If you could buy ingredients cheap then NPC them at a profit, it might be worth it, but my own personal opinion is if you want to get rich, take up smithing.

It's still a freaking guide you jerks. =.= Just because it is similar to other guides doesn't mean that it doesn't serve the purpose that it was made for.

Just because they look similar doesn't mean that it is the same.

By saying they're the same that means I copied his/her work word for word.

Ya they do look similar, it's a fine enough guide to submit, but I can't see this guide being worth any points

Wasn't submitting it for points, was just doing it for the hell of making guide because I have nothing better to do other than watch dust collect on the thing you pull to turn on a ceiling fan.

Why make a guide that's similar to so many others? Something original like "a gilseller's guide to botfishing" would have fetched more interest.

-shrugs- Just depends I picked something easy to keep me from sleeping during the day so I don't sleep at night.

=D Yay, Admin still likes meh.

Anyways, I should figure out a way to get my cooking skill up more, but I'm very cheapo on my server and am in debt to a close friend of 300k and counting.

I analyzed it myself and there are similarities, yes, but there is no proof he copied.

As for plagiarism, there are many different forms of it.

1. Word-for-word = Plagiarism
2. Taking of ideas = Paraphrasing

etc...

Always make sure you give credit where credit is due, and never take credit for other people's work.

And no, I'm not accusing you Kagami :)
