All those shouts you make in the middle of town asking for someone to power level you are just making more people add you to their blacklist. That 1000 gold that you offer isn't as much as you think it is either.
Note:
This guide is geared mostly at the melee classes. It will help you, but not as much as it would for a melee class.
Quantity over Quality
You want to kill as many mobs as you can, as fast as you can. Yes, those doses of 200 XP are nice, but the downtime that follows isn't. This is probably one of the biggest problems people have with leveling. Getting XP in quick ammounts of 15-50 will add up a lot quicker. This will give you very little downtime.
It's all about the Gil
Most of this game revolves around gil. This guide requires you to have some gil. This won't tell you how to make gil, but keep in mind that more mobs means more drops which means more gil, supporting my above statement.
Gear Yourself Up
You need to the best gear available to you. Keep in mind that the highest level gear isn't always the best. Look at the Cesti +1 for example (lvl 1 monk weapon). It's stats are ATK +2, DEL +43, and Acc. +4, and these stats can't be beaten by any weapon for several levels.
Make sure you're geared up for defense and speed. This means to have a one-handed weapon and a shield rather than a two-handed weapon. Since you'll be going after mostly easy prey to go for the fast kills, this will reduce your downtime while still doing good damage.
Don't be afraid to lose a couple points of damage if you can significantly increase your speed. The beestinger has a DMG of 4, but its delay is 150 and gives you +1 DEX and AGI. It's not uncommon to get 3 attacks for every 1 attack of the enemy's.
Food
I'm sure lots of people know that food boosts your character's abilities, but it seems very little make use of it. This will be one of the key factors in the guide. Make sure you get 2 items: Mithkabobs and Milk. Food and Drinks can be used at the same time!
Earlier I mentioned to gear yourself towards defense, and mithkabobs will bring your attack up to even that out. There are 2 types of Mithkabobs
Meat Mithkabobs (180-500g)*
-STR: 5 VIT : -1 AGI: 2 INT: -1
-30 minutes
-12 per stack
Meat Chiefkabobs (500-1000g)*
-STR: 5 VIT: -1 AGI: 2 INT: 1 CHR: 1
-60 Minutes
-12 per stack
I recommend Chiefkabobs since they don't reduce your INT and usually don't cost twice as much as mithkabobs. If chiefkabobs get a little too expensive or hard to find, you won't notice much of a difference by using regular mithkabobs.
Now comes the Milk. Milk does the same thing as the spell Regen (cures your HP over time). Even though it's slow, it makes a huge difference in the long run and helps to reduce downtime by even more.
Selbina Milk (53g - Selbina Merchant/80-100g Auction House)*
-1hp every 3 sec. for 3 min.
-12 per stack
There are also Au Laits which are flavored milk and more effective than Selbina Milk.
Apple au Lait (300-600g)*
-1hp every 3 sec. for 5 min.
-Non-stackable
Orange au Lait (300-600g)*
-2hp every 3 sec. for 3 min.
-Non-stackable
Pamama au Lait (700-1000g)*
-2hp every 3 sec. for 10 min.
-Non-stackable
Pear au Lait (700-1000g)*
-3hp every 3 sec. for 5 min.
-Non-stackable
Persikos au Lait (1200-2200g)*
-4hp every 3 sec. for 10 min.
-Non-stackable
*Keep in mind that prices fluctuate from server to server and even day to day so these prices might not be accurate anymore
I got these times from various guides, but it definitely feels a lot faster than 3 seconds. The mages might prefer to use juice. They're like the milk except they add the "Refresh" effect which gives you MP over time instead of HP.
Go Level!
That's all there is to it. The levels will zoom right by by using the right gear, fighting more mobs for less xp, and using food and drinks.
