This is my guide to how to grow tree saplings from tree cuttings, and then how to grow elemental ores from those.

I think that Saplings are the easiest things to garden... all they take is a check up everyday....

Just get your porcelain pots, grab a bag of tree cuttings and plant them (Dropped from Goobbues in Pashow marshlands)....... check once a day and wait for harvest time... thats right, NO FEEDING. You do not have to feed cuttings any crystal, if you do, you will not end up with saplings.

Most people plant the cuttings on either Darksday or Lightsday, either day will give you a good harvest, The better day to harvest though, is Darksday.. It maximizes your yeild of harvest!!

Most harvest, you should get at least one sapling per cutting, sometimes you will get upto 4 saplings from one cutting!!! (that is a GREAT harvest)

Once you have your harvest gather up your saplings get ready to garden ELEMENTAL ORES!!!! And now for the Elemental Ores...

Growing ores is a nice way to gain a HUGE profit. Right now with the inflation on Bismarck, the prices of ore are anywhere from 800k-1.5 mil. With this price, you can't lose!

What you will need to get started.

-Porcelain Pots (You can have any number up to 10, but I recommend 10 because you will get more success.)
-(Optional) Maple Tables: These help with success rate.
-Tree saplings (As many saplings as you have Porcelain Pots. Also, you can use the method mentioned above to get tree saplings from cuttings)
-Elemental Crystals: Whatever ore you are trying to get, you need TWO of the same crystal for each plant you are growing.

How it Works:

First Step: Take the porcelain pots (And maple tables if you have them) and put them in your mog house as furniture. Then plant a tree sapling in each pot, but make sure that it is planted on the day of the element ore that you want.

Second Step: Check plant every real life day. There is controversy as to how many times you need to check each day, but I recommend checking twice to be safe.

Third Step: After about a week, or a couple days longer, you will be asked to feed the plant. If the day of the week does not coorespond with the ore you are trying to grow, then wait until it is the day of your ore before you feed it. A lot of people say that you can feed at any time, but I have experienced worse success rates from that. If you are impatient, however, you can feed on whatever day you feel right.

Fourth Step: Same as second step, check your plants twice a day.

Step Five: Same as step three, feed your plant on the day of your ore.

Step Six: Continue to check plant until prompted to harvest.

Step Seven: After about another week or so, you wil be asked to harvest your plant. You want to harvest your plant on the day of your element, as well as a day withing 5% of a full or new moon.

Now, there is some risk in elemental ore gardening. The risk is that, if you don't get an elementla ore, you will lose quite a bit of money. I recommend only gardening them if you have enough money to back it up. I have made a chart that gives backround info on each ore, including it's success rate based on MY experiments.

Acutally you wouldnt farm cuttings in pashow you would go to zi tah.. but this is something that everyone knows and if you didnt know its nothing special just go to any ffxi site n check recipes for ore and you would figure it out without pressure.. i say sorry nah
