There is absolutely no way this would work, going from like 75 to 1-40! EXP is gimped for the lower level people in the party when they are more than 3 levels below the highest member of the party.
Here's an example (And this is 100% true, and I did this like last year):
I was RDM55, went /anon so I could merit with my linkshell and not get !@#$%^&* for it (And somehow we all survived, except one time when the JP tank went AFK mid-fight). Everyone else was getting EXP ranging from 90-300 roughly. I, on the other hand, only got 30-50 EXP per kill. Not bad might I add, but it was significantly less than the other members. Probably close to a 60-70% decrease in the amount of EXP on a per kill basis. This was also in Caedarva Mire, more specifically Azouple Isle Staging Point.
As for being in an alliance, that would reduce the EXP even more!!!
SE even specifically says themselves, that when you're in an alliance, you will receive MUCH LESS EXP than if you were in a party of 6.
So this gets a big Nay from me.

Waitinginshadow pretty much said it, I mean even partying with a 4 level gap, say it is 34-36, thats a good three level gap, but when the 36 levels and hits 37, that one level, you can tell gimps exp quite a bit.
I say nay
