Profit from Goldsmithing as you level it. : FFXI Submissions

So, you want to level Goldsmithing and be cool. Be forwarned Goldsmithing is considered the most expensive guild to level to 100.

From the current prices on materials you will most likely be using 300 million through 700 million to achieve 100 Goldsmithing if you plan on buying all your material. So, to make your life easier I've decided to post some nice ways to making gil while leveling Goldsmithing:

After you achieve level 8 goldsmithing, this shouldn't take you more than 2 hours and only 50k gil if you buy from guild and merchants by the airship.

Go to Bastok markets and talk with Zhikkom (F-10) , he's the first galka you'll see upon entering the shop. And you will need the following items:
Zhikkom sells the Sapara for about roughly 713 - 807 gil, not too shabby.
Bring stacks of lightning crystals with support of guild on hand to make less failed desynthesis:

Sapara (Goldsmithing
Crystal: Lightning
Result: Brass Ingot
HQ #1: Brass Ingot x2
HQ #2: Silver Ingot



Keep doing this till you get a stack, this goes for 30k per stack on my server and is an excellent way to making gil for beginners. And if you are lucky you may be able to get a stack of silver ingots, but don't count on it since you are still a low level goldsmither.

Now, after obtaining level 22 goldsmithing you are ready to go Lower Jeuno and go to H-9 and talk to one of the 3 ladies who own the shop "Gems by Kshama."



The next item desynthesis will be using Silver Earrings. They usually go for 1150 - 1300 gil and you will profit from this well. So grab your lightning crystals and head out on to your next destination:

Silver Earring Goldsmithing (22)
Crystal: Lightning
Result: Silver Ingot
HQ #1: Silver Ingot
HQ #2: Silver Ingot x2

Notice: There is a shop in Bastok Markets that will sell Silver earrings for the same price. But they will only sell if Bastok is in first place in the conquest. If so go to Bastok Markets and talk to: Raghd (J-8) he is a merchant for the shop: "Carmelide's Jewelry."



So keep on truckin' till you reach 27 preferably for a higher chance of HQ'ing and not breaking this next desynthesises:

Lightning Crystal + Moblin Helm
Result: 1x Brass Ingot
HQ1: 1x Brass Ingot
HQ2: 1x Brass Ingot
HQ3: 1x Gold Ingot

Lightning Crystal + Moblin Mail
Result: 3x Brass Ingot
HQ1: 3x Brass Ingot
HQ2: 3x Brass Ingot
HQ3: 1x Gold Ingot

Now, for me I go to Oldton Movalpolos and mine these. The mining rate isn't to bad but it beats paying 10k per Mail/Helm from the AH. You can also kill Moblin Ashmen for the helm drop and mail. A level 55+ character can kill these moblins with no challenge at all.

Don't expect a gold ingot HQ so soon with your current level, but you can make some nice gil off this.



Also if you decide to mine in Oldton be on a look out for this guy as for his drop might benefit your needs:

Shinimusha Haidate This is worth around 1 million on my server and its a pretty easy drop for me with no TH. 4/20.



So far you should be gaining nice profit on this. Now moving up to the next desynthesis!

Once you reach 42 you can do this desynthesis but I suggest waiting till 46 due to high failure rate. Go to Lower Jeuno and back to "Gems By Kshama" (H-9) You will be seeing these girls even more enjoy the view. Your next target for desynthesis is:

Mythril Earring Goldsmithing
Crystal: Lightning
Result: Mythril Ingot
HQ #1: Mythril Ingot
HQ #2: Mythril Ingot x2

They go for 4140 - 4500 gil each. And not bad if you make a stack with them. If you insist on doing this at 42 you can use these ingots and skill up your Goldsmithing skill by crafting Mythril Rings:

Goldsmithing
Crystal: Fire
Ingredients: Mythril Ingot x2
Result: Mythril Ring
HQ #1: Mythril Ring +1

Keep doing this till you cap at 47.

There is also another Mythril Earring merchant in Rabao at F - 7. His name is Scamplix and sells the earring at the same price range as Lower Jeuno.



Another nice way of skilling up if you want to at 47 or just making gil is stealing beastcoins from mobs and Notorious Monsters. If you want to do this you will need Thief as main job higher than 45 or as a sub at level 25 (For Flee). You can steal from the following mobs:

Another nice desynthesis for gold ingots as you reach higher levels is:

Lightning Crystal + Gold Orc Mask (EX)
Result: 1x Gold Ingot

These are dropped from Orcish Troopers in:
Davoi, Monastic Cavern, and Castle Zvahl.

They are not a hard drop and can be soloed easily at 65.
The cap for this is 51 Goldsmithing so above 51 is a good way to ensure 70% desynthesis rate, and the best part is You don't lose money !

Now that you are 61, here comes the dreaded Platinum ores for synthesis. . . Not only are they expensive, you will most probably lose a huge amount of money, unless! You start gardening!
This is what you will need:

Pot: Ceramic Flowerpot
Seed: Tree Cuttings
Crystal #1: Light
Crystal #2: Light

Possible Results:

Platinum Nugget x7 - 11
Dark Crystal x6.

By the way if you can, save some ingots for you will need them at higher levels of synthesis (67-70)

So at 82 you will need to start crafting Elemental beads to skill up (ouch). Expensive BUT you can save if you have patience and luck. You can obtain ores by gardenin YAY!

Pot: Porcelain Flowerpot
Seed: Tree Saplings
Crystal #1: Wind
Crystal #2: Wind

Possible Results:

Wind Ore x1
Earth Cluster x2 - 3
Windurstian Tea Leaves x33 - 48

It is the same for the other ores, just switch around the crystals.

Now comes level 87. Here you will need Orichalcum ores. These will bust your bank open unless you mine in Ifrit's Cauldron or you can Chocobo Dig in Rolanberry Fields.

I don't reccomend Chocobo Digging unless you already have a high level digging skill. (Chocobo Digging has hidden skill levels) or if you have time to burn and level it up.

You've put a bit of effort into this, but it's quite useless... there are way too many craft-leveling guides out there already.

This is common sense, but I'm going to give this one a
Yay since it is pretty detailed unless it has been stolen from another site.

I'd say yes, this is a good guide. I've seen a lot of guides, some just really obvious by looking at synths. This actually gives you some pointers, and even locations of NPCs.

Not the be all end all guide, not something 'amazingly new wow i never thought of that', but still a good guide overall.

In fact I think i'll consult it for leveling up to 60
