Tree Cutting Guide (For Cash or Unleashed Account) : FFXI Submissions

I found that farming Tree Cuttings alone or with a farming PT is good Gil, here is how I do it and where I do it, along with some locations.

The farming Tree Cuttings are:

The Sactuary of Zit'Tah - Goobbue Farmers, around the Boyhada Tree area. Soloing is 57 and up. Around 10% Drop rate fast spawns. (Tested by me.) <i>A good location is where Ogre Flys and Lesser Gaylas spawn. The should appear around the (X-9) Regions of the map.</i>

Rollanberry Feilds - Goobbue, scattered along the road. Soloed by 40 and up. Around a 8% Drop Rate, slow spawns. (Tested by me.)

Pashollow Marshlands - Goobbue, scattered along the road. Soloed by Lv30 and up. Around a 5% Drop Rate, slow spans. (Tested by me and a friend)


Also, Tree Cutting Drops are mainly affected by Treasure Hunter Lv2, and you wil <b>not</b> notice any sort of increase with TH1 with you. It is a waste of time, and should be replaced with a WHM sub or your regular sub.

Lv45-52 3
THF, SAM or WAR, RDM or BRD
If you dont have a map, I have simple navigation directions. Keep right. When you see the entrance to the Boyahda Tree, ignore it. Keep going right until you see a nice spot to camp Goobbues. When you are there no undead spawn, but be careful of Lesser Gaylas. They will aggro you and attack you. They will also link Ancient Bats. if you want to go back, just follow the opposite of my instructions. Keep left.

Farming the tree cuttings themselves is quite profitable, around 50k per stack, and I usually get 2-4 stacks while team farming.

This is a map of Zi'Tah, I strongly reccommend farming in the F-9 areas. That is where I farm wood cuttings. This is also a popular JP camp.


These can be converted into Tree Sapplings. Which Sell for about triple the price of Tree Cuttings on my server. The Gardening recipe is the following:

Seed: Tree Cutting
Plant: Anytime
Pot: Ceramic or Earthan
Crystal 1: None
Day of Feeding: None
Crystal 2: None
Day of Feeding: None
Harvest: After full Growth (2 weeks.)
Result: Tree Sapplings 1-2x

Thats about a 100k profit if you buy from the AH and all them are grown into Sapplings.

Seed: Tree Cutting
Pot: Brass
Crystal 1: Dark Crystal
Time: Darksday

Crystal 1: Dark Crystal

Time: ~
Harvest: One Week

Platnuim Nuggets:
Seed: Tree Cuttings
Pot: Brass
Crystal 1: Light Crystal
Time: Lightsday
Crystal 2: Light Crystal
Time: Firesday
Harvest: About 1 Week

I was doing them with this PT:
Lv51 DRK
Lv45 RDM
Lv53 SAM

I didnt have much of a problem.
I assume you can do it with that.

ok...went to the exact area you said...and then some, didnt find a single goobbue in the entire region of zitah. my friend thinks im a friggin !@#$%^&* for making him follow me around this region for 30 minutes. found plenty of goobbue parasites and golems.

Did you wait for them to spawn?
Its hard to find them at first.
