Well, this is really quite an easy thing to do for those of you who are interested, you can use this site (
http://shigemo.com/FFXI/nihongo_guide.html) of phrases to enter into jwpce, which will convert them to kanji (romaji to kanji, not english to kanji).. follow these steps....
1. download the program Vanahand at
http://vanahand.s29.xrea.com/VanaHandOnly0902.zip
2. download the program jwpce at
http://www.physics.ucla.edu/~grosenth/jwpcemin.exe
3. Use the site listed above to find phrases, (or any other site you wish, I use this one =D ) to enter into jwpce and then copy and paste all the phrases down that you want into notepad or some other text program.
4. Open Vanahand and select your macro folder for your character, usually C:\Program Files\Playonline\Final Fantasy XI\User\"yourcharactersfolder"
5. Vanahand should pop up with your macros you've set allowing you to edit them out of the game.
6. This is where the fun begins, copy/paste the phrases you got from your site (or if you know how to speak japanese just type in romaji in jwpce) into jwpce then copy/past from jwpce to Vanahand into any desired slot on the far right (the long whites slots) the two white slots to the left are the titles of the macro.
7. In Vanahand it won't show up as Kanji but don't worry! It will in game.
8. Open the drop down menu from the top left and select the second option from the top with "(S)" by it, this saves your macro into the game.
9. Start up your game and check it for yourself! =D
You can program as many japanese phrases, including the odd looking english characters you see them typing in game using this method.
It will prolly take you about 30 mins your first time to get all of this up and running, but after you get use to it, you'll be able to do it quicker.
I'm still working on finding a way to directly input kanji into the chat box instead of having to do it through the macros, irregardless I think this is still a neat way to mess around with FFXI.
As far as I know this is completely in compliance with POL's user agreement even though you are using a third party program to speed up the entry of these, you can also do it with any basic text editor as well the process just requires a little more thinking.
As before I'm hoping for premium with this =D
Have fun, pm me if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them ^^.
