Skulls

You can only claim/collect the skulls under the Normal, Heroic or Legendary difficulty settings. You must start from the beginning of the mission. You will not be able to see the skulls if you load from a checkpoint, unless doing so after you die. In Co-op mode, as soon as one player picks the skull up, all players will receive the achievement. Not all skulls earn an achievement; only nine of them do so. To use skulls, press X at the lobby screen. This will give you a bonus multiplier for co-op and go towards earning the Guerrilla, Demon, etc. achievements.

Black Eye Skull

* This skull's description reads "Bash your way to better health." This skull causes your shields to not regenerate until you hit an enemy with a melee attack. You do not have to kill them; just hit them with a melee attack.

* To get this skull, from the start of the "Crow's Nest" mission, without moving anything, you can see a massive pipe above you. Walk up the stairs, then up the next set. Turn to your left and jump up on the shelf unit. From there, jump to the red cross beam then up onto the pipe. From there, just walk to the end. Walk over the Black Eye Skull to claim it. You do not have to pick this skull up, it does it automatically.

Blind Skull

* This skull's description reads "Shoot from the hip". This skull must be activated before you start a Campaign map. This skull causes you to lose your H.U.D., including the shield meter and motion sensor. You will also lose your crosshairs and cannot see what weapon you are wielding.

* To get this skull, in the "Sierra 117" mission get to the area where you see the Phantom overhead. A Marine will point it out. Jump over the rocks and follow the path on the right. When you reach the cliff, there will be a rock over the side. The skull is at the end of the rock.

* In the "Cortana" mission, there is a time where you are in a room where you must destroy the generators. When you walk in the room there is the door you first come in. Jump on top it and you will see a ledge. Jump to it, then then grenade jump to the ceiling. This is very difficult to do. In the center is the Blind Skull (another one to find if you could not get the first one).

Catch Skull

* When this skull is activated, all enemies and allies will have two grenades and throw them often. This will also lead to the Covenant sticking themselves. Note:

* To get this skull, in the "Storm" mission go to where the first anti-air Wraith tank is located. In the that area, on the ground on the far side from where you enter, is a large gray cylinder. Take a vehicle and push a large crate to the side of it. Jump on the crate, then the silo. The skull is on the top of the silo. The Catch Skull is only on the silo if the Wraiths have not been destroyed; both must be functioning. Also, if you have a difficult time acquiring the Catch Skull, make sure that you have completed the game under the Normal or higher difficulty setting; if not the skull will not spawn.

* Alternately, take a Warthog and park the front of it next to the cylinder. Take out a grenade (plasma recommended), and throw it at the front of the Warthog. Jump at the correct moment (usually as soon as you throw it) to get a little extra boost to your jump to get to the top to reach the Catch Skull. This may require a few attempts. Note: If you kill either of the Wraiths in the area the skull will disappear.

* Alternately, play in Co-op mode. Have a partner stand beside the building the skull is on. Jump on top of them then have them jump. At the peak of their jump, jump off of them. You will land next to the skull. Collect it then drop down to allow everyone else to get it.

Cowbell Skull

* Using this skull will increase explosive force, similarly to the Sputnik Skull from Halo 2.
* To get this skull, in "The Ark" mission get a grav lift from the small building near where you fought the Scarab. Continue through the mission until you reach the second sloping hallway (stairway). Find the partitioned risers (platforms) halfway down. The skull is on the top level. Throw the grav-lift on the right side of the hall so that it ends up on the fourth small green dot from the door. Get a running jump and use the grav-lift to boost you to the top. You will get a checkpoint when you enter the room.
* This skull is much easier to obtained when playing in Co-Op mode. Both players should pick up a Grav Lift from the small building near where you fight the Scarab. Proceed through the level until you reach the second sloping hallway (stairway). You should see some partitioned risers (platforms) halfway down. The skull is on the top level. Toss one Grav Lift on the right side of the platforms and have the second player put a Grav Lift on top of first one. You can now jump extra high. Run, jump, and use the Grav Lift to propel yourself to the top. You should reach a checkpoint just as you enter the room; if you miss just try again. You may need one player to push the other player on the platform.

Famine Skull

* This skull's description reads "Trust us. Bring a magazine." Dropped weapons will have less ammunition.
* To get this skull, in "The Ark" mission enter the valley to the right after the wrecked Phantom. Look to the left to find a large boulder. Use a Ghost to reach the side of the boulder that is closest to the bridge overhead. Get the Ghost up the side of the wall by using the thrust. Get two Ghosts up the wall to the top of the bridge. Stack them on top of each other next to the beam where the skull is located. Then, jump from the top of the Ghosts towards the skull and land on the beam.

* Use the following trick instead of trying to get a ghost to the Famine skull or risking your life with a grenade. Instead of going straight to it, go the way you will do later in the level with the tank (for those of you who skip that part). Kill all the enemies or until one drops a deployable cover. Go the way you would have to. When you get over the hill, destroy the Ghosts. Go under the bridge. You will see a big rock with a pathway leading up. Follow it. When you get to the top, turn to your right. It will not have a dirt ramp but a wall. Walk up to it. Notice the small ledge. Hop up and walk to the furthest to the right. Deploy the cover so that it lands about halfway down to where the bridge slopes. Do not throw too far or it go over the ledge. Hop up on top of the cover. Jump up to the narrow ledge and the skull is yours. Note: There is more than one way to jump from cover to ledge; try a few if you miss.

Fog Skull

* This skull's description reads "You'll miss those eyes in the back of your head." You will no longer have a motion sensor.
* To get this skull, in the "Floodgate" mission while you are walking down from the anti-air gun destroyed in the last mission, you will see a ramp next to a missile launcher. Near this ramp is a checkpoint. After reaching it, you will hear a Marine yell, "There! Over there!". Look up and to the right at the roof of the building next to the missile launcher. There is a lone Flood that is holding the skull. Kill him before he jumps. He will drop the skull on the ground. Note: If you shoot too early the skull will get stuck on the roof.

Grunt Birthday Party Skull

* This skull when activated makes Grunts explode in confetti when they are hit with a headshot. There will also be some cheering, like a birthday party.

* To get this skull, immediately after the first objective of the "Crow's Nest" mission while en route to the barracks you will fall down to a pipe. Get to the end that pipe. Look over the edge to find a small space a few feet below. Drop over then quickly pull back to land under the floor you dropped from. The skull will be at the end of this area.

* Alternately, start the Crow's Nest mission and get to the part where the drones come out of the pipes. After you kill the drones, go forward and fall into a circular room. However before you fall, get on the edge and look down. You should see another level underneath. Drop down close to the arrow and press the Analog-stick towards the second level. It is at the end of the hallway.

IWHBYD Skull

* This skull's description reads "But a dog beat him over the fence." This skull unlocks hidden dialogue when activated. If this is the thirteenth skull you have located, it will also unlock the Hayabusa Head. IWHBYD stands for "I Would Have Been Your Daddy" which is a level chapter from the original Halo.

* To get this skull, go to the last tower. Before you get to the Prophet of Truth, there are a series of bridges with Halos. Do not jump through any yet. First, kill the Prophet and clear the bridges of enemies. Then jump through the Halos in this order, with "1" being the entrance and "7" being the end near where the Prophet was located: 4, 6, 5, 4, 5, 3, 4. Note: You can also use the longer sequence of 4, 5, 6, 5, 7, 6, 5, 4, 1, 2, 3, 2, 7, 2, 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 5, 4, 5, 3, 4. This is much easier in Co-op mode with three or four people. This is the Halo theme if it was played on a phone by dialing the numbers. If done properly, the Halos will start flashing. If the Halos do not flash, revert to your last saved game. The skull is near the Prophet's ramp.

Iron Skull

* This skull's description reads "Death carries a heavy price...". This skull causes you to start from the beginning of the current level when you die. If playing in co-op mode, the death of any player will cause everyone to start from the most recent chapter.

* To get this skull, after freeing Johnson and killing all the Covenant that come in the Phantoms in the "Sierra 117" mission, walk to the Pelican that arrives to pick you up. Face the cargo bay, but instead of hopping in turn left and follow the path. Once you hit the wall, jump up to your right to eventually reach a walkway. Walk all the way to the end. Take a left, then a right. At the end of this a little bit to the right is a dark corner. Press Up to turn your light on and you should see the skull. If you cannot see it you are probably standing on it.

Mythic Skull

* This skull's description reads "Coverage under the Covenant health plan." This skull causes your enemies to have double the usual health points.

* To get this skull, follow the normal path in the "Halo" mission until you reach a cave. Hug the right wall until it branches off into a small path. At the end of this path is some rubble, and in front is the skull.

Thunderstorm Skull

* This skull's description reads "Field promotions for everyone!" Enemies will be stronger.
* To get this skull, in "The Covenant" mission shut down Tower 1 and get access to the Hornet. Fly to Tower 2 (which is the one that the Arbiter shut down). Go up the stairs. Go to the middle part that connects both. There should be a stairway that leads up to a platform where the skull is found.

Tilt Skull

* This skull's description reads "What was once resistant is now immunity." This skull causes the shields of Brutes and some Flood Combat Forms to become nearly impervious. They must be taken down with a plasma weapon.

* To get this skull, in the "Cortana" mission enter the circular type room with all the Flood. Look for a small structural piece next to two archways. Jump on top if it then go up on the rocks to the top left. Turn to the left and jump up again. Turn 180 degrees and jump to the rocks across from you. Then, follow the rock that is sticking out and leads up on top of the original circular room. The skull can be found in a pool of blood.

Tough Luck Skull

* This skull's description reads "Your foes always make every saving throw". This skull causes your enemies to be better at dodging grenades and other projectiles.

* To get this skull, once you get past the part of the map after you are forced to leave your vehicles, you will go through a tunnel out onto an open "freeway". Immediately coming out of the tunnel you will see a huge pipe with two yellow ladders. Climb the second ladder. You should see a Regenerator power-up. Proceed to your right onto a small platform ledge where the yellow chain link fence is located. Jump onto that ledge, crossing over the fence. Directly behind you should be a large column that is holding up the giant pipe you were just on. Below that is a walkway. Fall off the ledge onto the walkway. Walk to the end of that. You should see a hidden ledge with the "Tough Luck" skull on it. A few attempts may be requires to jump across.

The following skulls require the bonus "Mythic Map Pack" expansion.

Assembly Skull

* Start the Assembly map in Forge mode. Enter Monitor mode. Locate the two "arms" that are attached to the central tower. Fly up and into the small opening at the top of one of those arms.

Sandbox Skull

* In Sandbox, fly to the highest point. Face the sun on the horizon in between two Guardian towers. Then, turn to your right and face in between the next pair of Guardian towers. The tower to the right of the sun should now be the tower on the left. The skull is outside the map in that direction. Try zooming in with a sniper rifle or beam rifle to find it. To reach it, try creating a tunnel made out of bubble shields, tube pieces and shield doors. You could also try flying over the skull and dropping a teleporter exit on it.

Orbital Skull

* Start the Orbital map in Forge mode. Find the open area with two traffic cones and a pit. Switch to Monitor mode and fly to the top. The skull is on a vent in one of the corners.

Terminals

* Start "The Ark" mission. After entering the first building take a left into another door. You will be in a curved corridor. On the inside is a Terminal.

* After activating the bridge in "The Ark" mission to let your friends cross the gap, turn 180 degrees to find the Terminal. Note: It does not open until you activate the bridge/

* In the third building after defeating the Scarab in "The Ark" mission, kill the group of sleeping Covenant. Follow the corridor down. You will reach a door in front that is locked. Immediately on the left is an open door. Go through and walk straight off. Turn 180 degrees to find a secret room with the Terminal.

* Enter the first tower standing on the lift in "The Covenant" mission. Face the access panel and turn left. Jump over to find the Terminal.

* Land your Hornet on the second tower in "The Covenant" mission. Walk towards the entrance. When you see the locked door, turn 180 degrees to find the Terminal.

* When in the third tower standing on the lift in "The Covenant" mission, face the access panel then turn right. Jump over to find the Terminal.

* After reaching the end of the first cave in the "Halo" mission, hug the right wall. You will see a building. Jump up onto the walkway and turn to the left once you are inside to find the Terminal.

Katana

Unlock 49 achievements to get at least 1,000 Gamerscore points.
Alternate endings

There are two endings. One is viewed when the game is completed under the Easy, Normal, or Heroic difficulty settings. The second ending is shown when the game is completed in Legendary mode.

Note: Instead of playing through the entire campaign under the Legendary difficulty setting to see the full ending, just complete the second part of the final mission under the Legendary difficulty setting.

Bonus downloadable content

Successfully complete the game under Legendary difficulty setting to get bonus pictures and a "Making of" video from Xbox Live.

Crouching

To crouch, click and hold the Left Analog-stick. When crouched you will not appear on motion-sensors. This is helpful in multi-player mode when you do not want the other team to find out where you are.
skalagix
Illegal service tags

* If you go to "Appearance" and try to change your service tag to "I" or "L" followed by "17" (for example I17 and L17), it will result in a message that they are reserved by the UNSC (Master Chief's number is 117). Also anything that ends with "00" will result in the same message. Entering "T17" and "A55" will result in a message stating that the service tag is not allowed under current UNSC regulations.

* If you try to use "F46" as your service tag you will be told that it cannot be used under UNCS regulations and rules. It is interpreted as an offensive three letter word for same sex relations.

Delete emblem

You can delete your emblem by putting the seventh column as your main emblem, blank as your background, and pressing X.

Getting in the same ranked Lone Wolves game

Go to your Dashboard. Change your language to the second option from the bottom. Start Halo 3. Invite four other friends that are about the same rank as you. Also have them change their language to the same one as you. Get everyone in the same party before you want to get them in the same party. Everyone must search at the same time. Everyone then must make a game in Lone Wolves. Before you go to start the countdown, press X to change the search options to the bottom one, which is to search for the same language. If done correctly, chances are you will be in the same ranked Lone Wolves game as your friends. You can now get achievements or level someone up.

Be the Oracle

Press Up at the Forge lobby and you will turn into the Oracle. You can pick up items by pressing A when you see a green hand.

At ease position

Note: The following can only be done in a local match or replay. To do the at ease position you must hold LB + RB for at least three seconds and press Left. If done correctly, your weapon will not be visible on your screen. When you shoot you will raise your weapon again.

Steal an Anti-Air Wraith

At least two players are required for this trick. Go to any level where you can reach an Anti-Air Wraith and kill the person in the turret. Then, have one player board the Anti-Air Wraith in the front. Have another player jump on the front part of the Wraith, holding RB. Then, have the person who is boarding the Anti-Air wraith punch slowly. After two or three punches, the pilot will die but not the Wraith. The person holding RB will be in the Anti-Air Wraith. Note: If you get out of the Anti-Air Wraith, it explodes. If a person is in the turret, there is no crosshair.

Destroying vehicles

This trick requires a plasma pistol, Spartan laser, power drain, plasma and spike grenades. For ground vehicles, use the Spartan laser. For fast ground vehicles, use the power drain on them then use the Spartan laser. When fully charged, the plasma pistol acts like a power drain. It will help with Banshees, Hornets and Phantom Turrets.

Stay zoomed in

If you are zoomed in as a Spartan or Elite and turn into the Monitor, press Up to turn back into your character. You will still be zoomed.

Brute Chopper wheels

All Brute Chopper wheels are actually in the shape of a Brute head. Look at it from the side and you should notice that the steel containing the wheel is shaped like a head of a Brute.

Smarter respawning

When playing in Co-op under the Legendary difficulty setting, it is best to have one player keep their distance from the enemy at all times. By doing this, if the rest of the players die they will respawn around the player that is farther back, rather than having to restart the checkpoint.

Complete Legendary mode easily

If you are alone and need to complete Legendary mode, turn on an idle second player to stay behind. If you die, you will respawn instead of restarting.

Veteran's Day reference

Set the Xbox 360's system date to Veteran's Day (November 11). Go to "Custom Games" and the Valhalla map. Take a Banshee to the middle of the map. Go to the opposite side of the crashed Pelican. On the huge dam-like wall, there should be a message directly in front of the Brute Shot stating that "Kilroy was here" in a white font. Also, if you face the wall, turn right, and walk towards the rock in front of that base, you will see the same message (with the same picture) under the grass.

Development team reference

Go to "Custom Games" and play the Last Resort (Zanzibar) map. Go to the area to the right of the windmill (with the sniper and fusion coils). There is a plaque on the wall directly ahead. It reads "Camp Froman" and shows a man with messy hair and glasses. It also shows a sniper rifle under "Camp Froman". "Froman" is the nickname of one of the Bungie employees, who made the location originally on Zanzibar and moved it to Last Resort as well.

Red vs. Blue reference

Find any Warthog in Custom Games or Forge modes. Look at the rear left hubcap. To the right of the hubcap on the wheel, it very faintly read "Puma", referencing Grif's comment on what they should call the Warthog (a.k.a. Chupathingy) from season one immediately after Caboose and Donut arrive.

Living grenade

Sticky grenade your monitor ally while he is human. Have him quickly change to Monitor The grenade will not detonate. Go near anyone and change back to human then back to monitor very fast. The grenade will detonate.

Glitched weapons

* While playing a local Forge match on any level, lower your weapon in Monitor mode. Turn back to human. Your weapon will now be invisible. Get on a turret or vehicle and get off. Your gun will be glitched. If you dual wield, you will only see one gun.

* In a Forge match with the SMG, if you melee then hold [Fire], you will hear the gun shoot but you will not be shooting. Also if you shoot with it while holding R, go into Monitor mode. You will hear your SMG still firing even though you are not.

Weird hands

* Have a friend in Forge mode. When you start the game, spawn a Brute Shot. Have the player who is not the host turn in to a Monitor. Have the host remain a player. Have the Monitor look at the Brute Shot as if they are going to pick it up. Have the player look as if they are going to pick up the weapon. Do a countdown and have both players take the weapon at the same time. This may require a few attempts.

* When doing the "Weird Hand" glitch, try shaking the weapon. It will make the person's arms disappear.

Invincibility

You need to have a partner and be in Forge mode. Have a friend or yourself host a game. Have the person who is the host be a player and have the person who is not the host play as the Monitor. Spawn a weapon like a Brute Shot. Have the Monitor look as if he or she is going to pick it up. Do the same thing with the player. Do a countdown and have both players pick it up. On the Monitor's screen, the player's hands should have no weapon. However, that player should see the weapon in their hand. While the Monitor is still holding onto the weapon press RT and the player's arm should be ripped off, or press Y button to delete it. This may require a few attempts.

Floating objects

* While in Forge mode, you can make a weapon or possibly an item float in mid-air. First, create an item. Make the top of the item flat so that you can place a weapon easily on it. Place a weapon on top of the item. Then, go to the item that is holding the weapon and press Y. Note: Do not press A then Y. The item will be gone, but the weapon will still be floating in mid-air.

* To make objects stay afloat, you must have two players in Forge mode. Have one person must spawn a Receiver Node (teleporter). Have the other player spawn an object that they can carry when the teleporter is dropped on it (for example, a crate). Make sure the Receiver Node is upside down when placed on the crate or other object, otherwise whatever you place on the teleporter will be slanted. Once the teleporter is on the box for at least ten seconds, get rid of it. After that, the teleporter will float. Uou cannot stand on it, but you can place objects on it.

Floating Bubble Shield

Throw a Gravity Lift onto a flat surface. Walk across the Gravity Lift and place a Bubble Shield below you while in the air. After that, come off the gravity lift. The Bubble Shield you placed should be bouncing like a ball and float.

Silent Gravity Hammer

When you are about to swing a Gravity Hammer, crouch and it will be silent. You must crouch first. You have to crouch then swing within half a second. This may require a few attempts.

Endless fireworks

Enter Forge mode on any level where you can place both fusion coils and propane tanks (High Ground and Last Resort recommended). Place as many fusion coils as possible. Turn their run time minimum to the amount that you have placed. Do the same with the propane tanks. Make sure they are within close range of each other. If you shoot a fusion coil or propane tank, the explosion will set off any other propane tanks. When the other explosives respawn, the propane tanks that are currently flying around will usually detonate the fusion coils that have newly spawned.

The Ark: Bridge landing

On the bridge you have to activate to get the tanks across, bring in a chopper. Simply drive through the door and you will be there. You can continue on through the door and assist the tanks on the other side, or you can cross the bridge. To do this, aim your chopper for one of the tanks, and turbo towards the bridge. When you get close, jump off. If you miss the tanks you will die. If done correctly, you will be on the bridge and be alive.

The Ark: Ride the Pelican

Before the Scarab tank is destroyed, find a chopper and continue up to the right of where you came from. There should be a door with purple pillars to your right. Drive up to one of the further pillars and park the chopper against it. Jump up onto the pillar then onto the roof next to you. Wait at the edge of the roof. When the Pelican lowers, jump onto it. The Pelican will fly across the map. You will fall through it and die.

The Ark: Undead Scarab

Note: This trick requires the Cowbell Skull enabled. Start at rally point bravo. After you go to the big hole in the ground with the two Wraiths, get a ghost. After you kill everyone, a small door should open into the tower. Push the Ghost in by beating it. Take the Ghost through the doors until the game saves and the Scarab walks over you. Get out and throw a plasma grenade on the Ghost and jump. You should land on the Scarab. This requires some practice. Get in the turret. Wait until it sinks into the ground and get off. Kill it and run away. Continue with the level and when the time comes, only half of a Scarab will come down.

Construct: Go under map

To do this trick you must be in Forge mode and be at Construct. Make sure you sell a respawn point before doing this glitch. Start out as the Oracle. Go down the pink grav lift by using your boost (press LT). There should be a few holes. You cannot fit down these as the Oracle. Start boosting into one of these holes that is not a closed circle. The Oracle should go slightly lower into this hole. Make sure you keep holding boost then turn into the player (either Spartan or Elite). You should fall underneath the level. Make sure you drop a respawn maker on a place where you can stand. This is to allow you to back there whenever desired. To prove you are under the level try to fly up without going through the grav lift. There is an invisible wall just like in the Foundation level in Halo 2, except on the bottom. This may not work on the first attempt.

Covenant: Two Arbiters

* Play the mission alone. When you have exited the third tower and killed all the Flood, there should be a group of Marines waiting in Warthogs and Tanks. The Arbiter should enter a Phantom and start to leave. Get in the Scorpion and destroy the Elite Phantom. The Arbiter will survive and fall on the slope below. Get in a Warthog and have the Arbiter jump in the back. Continue the level as usual. The Arbiter will accompany you even though he normally is not there. After destroying the two Scarabs, the same Phantom you destroyed earlier should spawn another Arbiter on the ledge where he normally calls for you. The original Arbiter should still be in your Warthog. Drive the Warthog on the side of the ledge until you reach where the new Arbiter is standing. The Monitor will activate a light bridge. Both Arbiters will now enter your Warthog. You can now drive both of them around. Note: After the cinematic with the Prophet and Johnson, only one Arbiter will be there.

* As soon as the Prophet of Truth begins to say "My faithful, stand firm..." kill the Arbiter so he falls to the ground. This easily done by using a weapon that can knock him down with one shot when his shield is depleted, such as a pistol, carbine, BR, etc. Be precise; if you do not kill him you must start the rally point over. If done correctly, the Arbiter should not have time to get up before the cinematic. During the cinematic you should see one Arbiter with a sword standing still if you killed him close to the elevator, and another Arbiter taking part in the cinematic running forward. Continue throughout the level with one Arbiter until you reach the beam bridge that allows you to cross to the crashed Pelican. As soon as you reach this section another Arbiter should appear and you will have a second Arbiter. This glitch can be done on any difficulty setting in single player mode.

Covenant: Get on top of map

When you get to choose which checkpoint you want to go to, select Bravo. Work your way with a Mongoose to the part where you first see a Shade and Ghosts come out. Board a Ghost and go up a small opening next to some rocks, next to the main road. (Screenshot). Boost your Ghost up this "path" and go to the top of the hill. (Screenshot) When you get to the top, there will be one or two soldiers that will compliment your Ghost, you, or ask questions. (Screenshot 1) (Screenshot 2) Keep going straight. Your screen will start to glitch it will seem as if the game has frozen. A few moments later, you should be either on land or above the ocean. (Screenshot)

Covenant: Leave level boundary

Get to the part where you face the first normal Wraith. After killing it and the Prowlers, kill the turret with a Ghost. Use the Ghost to ramp off the place where the turret used to be, onto the start of the "tower". It is easy to find, but difficult to do. After you get up there, you will find a place where you need to grenade or partner jump. Do so until you cannot get any farther up the tower. Fall off to your right (you may want to only have one person do this). You should fall, then float in mid-air. Float to the rocks or mountain beside you. You will now be out of the level's boundary.

Covenant: Getting energy swords

When you are at the part with a Hornet proceed as usual. Clear out all of the Brutes before going inside the tower. After the Elites land, go up to one of them. Bash them, but not in the back or they will die. Bashing them will take their shield down. After that, throw a plasma grenade at the Elite and make sure it sticks. Because he is about to die he will take out his energy sword. When he dies from the grenade take his sword. Note: This will not work with any other grenade. This procedure will also work with the Arbiter. When you get the energy sword it will only have about 55 energy in it. If you obtained one from the Arbiter it will only have 2 or 3 energy in it.

Covenant: Loading screen

There is a glitch when you reach the first tower where Miranda Keyes tells you to enter. To see it, first destroy all enemies and retrieve two Ghosts. There is a Shade (or stationary gunner) with a Grunt in it up on a hill to the left of the tower. After you destroy that you can now use both Ghosts to boost on to the tower. Use one Ghost as a lift for the other. Bring the first Ghost to the first ledge after you boost on to the tower and leave it pointing forward. Then, jump down carefully without dying and boost the second Ghost on the tower. Drive it over the other ghost to reach the next level. Once this is done, boost through the invisible wall then get out of your Ghost. Jump to the next level up. When you cannot walk up any further, jump down to your right toward a mountain. You should float in the air, slowly slide toward it, then land. After this is finished, walk all the way up the mountain. There should be a corner on the right side of the tower. This corner is small and has graphics glitch. Once you walk into the corner you should enter a loading point. Walk backwards when the loading point is occurring and you should stop from sliding down the hill. If you do not, you may fall down and die. Keep doing this until you are successful. Once this is done, walk back up on the hill you slid down. Walk along the edge of the tower that you are next to. There are ledges on the edge. Jumping and crouching skills are required. When done you should be on top of a tower in the area where you normally fight two Scarabs but there are no enemies. You are up very high. This gives you a closer look at the scenery. If you make it down to the ground and try to go forward to the bridge you will die. If you try to go back there is a black picture wall, or a graphics glitch that copies your view.

Halo: Unlimited Spartan laser

Use the following trick to get an unlimited Spartan laser on last level "Halo". Play through the level until you meet up with Sergeant Johnson. Shoot him until he falls down and drops the Spartan laser. Quickly pick it up and shoot it at him. Keep shooting him until he kills you. When you respawn, knock him down again and pick up his laser. He should get back up with another laser on his back. When he does, shoot him down again and pick up the new gun he drops. This laser should have unlimited Spartan ammunition. This makes it easier to destroy the Guilty Spark 343.

Halo: Door shows player's view

Play the level in Campaign mode with two players on the same Xbox 360. After you leave the control room, follow the snowy path off to the right. You will hear Cortana telling you to find a door. It is easy to find. It is very large and the path leads directly to it. Once you pass through the door, go down the hall and fight off the Flood. Leave player two at the end of the hall you just came through. Make sure not to look at the door you just came in. Have player one progress as usual. When player one enters the hallway that leads to the rest of the mission, have player two should look at the first door you came through. It should show player one's screen in the doorway. If you leave the hallway it will change into a normal door.

Halo: Leave level boundary
Get to almost the end of the level. At almost the end of the last ramp, you will leave a tunnel. There will be two towers. You can use the "Escalator" trick to get up them and out of the level.

Highground: Leave level boundary

To get out of Highground you must be in Forge mode. Go down to the beach area and get in a Mongoose. Have the person in the Mongoose accelerate at the barrier. Afterwards, have the Wraith boost at the back of the Mongoose from a short distance. For a brief moment the Mongoose will be past the barrier. When this happens, get out. You will then be outside of Highground. This trick works in all ocean maps.

Highground: Killed by guardians

At the first camo spot in Forge mode is a ledge that resembles a triangle. Go into Monitor and push into the ledge. You will be killed by guardians. Note: This may require several attempts.

Isolation: Leave level boundary

In Forge mode, get as high as you can as the Monitor. Spawn a teleporter on the ground. Then, hug any wall still as being as high as you can and spawn another teleporter. If the teleporter beneath you is lit up as it should be, turn back into a Spartan or Elite and go through the it. You should now be outside the level boundary.

Last Resort: Stretchy Master Chief

Enter Forge mode and select Last Resort. Move to the two Mongooses next to the building on the far side of the map from the beach. Change into the Monitor and place six or more Fusion Coils near the side of the bridge coming out of the building. Change back to Master Chief and stand on top of the coils. Position yourself so that when they detonate you will fly into the side of the bridge. This may require a few attempts. Then, end the game. Go to the theater and watch the movie. Play the explosion slowly by tapping A quickly to pause and restart the movie. If done correctly, upon impact Master Chief will stretch out.

Last Resort: Invisible bridge
Set the speed and gravity to the lowest value and start the game. Stand on the wheel in the middle so that one of the arms will raise you up. When you are high enough so that you can start walking up the arm, walk up to the center of the wheel. You will see a hole on the round wall in front of you. The hole has some black wires hanging around it. Crouch jump into this hole. Keep jumping straight up. In a few jumps you should be able to squeeze between the wires and get on an invisible bridge. This makes an excellent sniping point.

Last Resort: Stuck to the ceiling

In Forge mode, change into the Oracle and enter the "Buy Items" menu. Go over to "Scenery", then scroll down until you find "Container-Open". Place it on the map. Scroll down and buy a Gravity Lift in the "Scenery". Place the Gravity Lift on top of the Open Container. Go inside and jump. You will become stuck to the ceiling. To get down, throw a frag grenade directly below you. It will lower your shields, but it gets you down. This glitch can be useful during custom matches to kill people when they walk through. Try using a shotgun or an energy sword.

Last Stand: Float

On the map Last Stand (Zanzibar) you can float for a little while above the ground. To do this, go into the Forge lobby. Press X and adjust the player movement settings as follows: Speed -200% to 300% Gravity -50%. Start the game when you are finished. Go to the beach. Get to the archway where the vehicles go. Turn and face the beach. You can either have someone go straight until they hit the invisible wall in the water, or take a guess. Either way, run towards the ocean. When you are about halfway to the person press A to jump in the air. When you hit the invisible wall you should float slowly down, then begin to hover just off the ground (almost as if you are walking on water.

Last Resort: Ghost on electrical wires

Select Forge mode. Go to "Buy Items" and go to "Vehicles" and get the Ghost. Find the electrical wires by the stairs with a lot of fusion coils. Place the Ghost on top of the wires.

Narrows: Turn off gravity lifts

In Forge mode, spawn a few of Trip Mines in front of the lift so that they respawn instantly. Throw them straight down at your feet while facing the lift until they explode. You will die by suicide. When you go back to the lift it will not work. Once you save the map, you can play it without lifts with all your friends.

Rat's Nest: Leave level boundary

Note: This must be done in Forge mode. Get on a Mongoose or Warthog. Circle around the map until you find a corner with a window. There are two ways of doing this. The first way is to forge a crate or something that can reach the window. Place a machine gun turret on top of it. Make sure the turret is close to the window. Then, use the turret and look up. Turn into the Monitor to leave the boundary. The second way is to have a partner forge a turret and set it down. Have the other player use it. Then, have your partner pick up the turret and push it against the window. The other player should look up and turn into the Monitor.

Sandtrap: Flying Elephant

In Forge mode, place a lot of fusion coils and plasma batteries inside an Elephant. Set their run time minimum and maximum to the same number. This will cause them to respawn instantly. Start shooting them or throw a grenade at them. This will set it an endless explosion and make it fly in the air forever. Note: This may require multiple attempts. The message "Hold X to flip the... Wait, how did you do that?" may also appear.

Sierra 117: Breathing under water

* At the end of the level, when the Pelican arrives after you have rescued Johnson it destroys the two Covenant ships, one being above the water just outside of where Johnson is held. The other one is above the water in the place just before the Pelican lands. You can climb in. Once the Covenant ship is destroyed on the side where it picks you up, the debris that remains will float on the water. Jump onto it and let it sink. From there all you can do is just jump from one piece of debris to the other. If you touch the ground you will die.

* At the part where the dropship pick up goes wrong (the Banshees attack the Pelicans), you are able to breathe underwater and get beam rifles (under the Legendary or Heroic difficulty settings only) on other side thanks to the Jackals. Note: The river also makes it so the enemy cannot hit you.

Sierra 117: Flying fish

Reach the point in the level just before you enter the forest (with the Jackal Snipers) and the dropship arrives and blows up Johnson's Pelican. Kill all enemies (optional, but things easier), then jump in the water. You should see a few pale green or tan fish swimming. Keep jumping up and down to see where you are going. Move to the waterfall. When you are on the edge, crouch and turn around toward where the fish were swimming. Back up until you cannot back up without falling. After toggling [Crouch] a few times, the water should disappear and the fish will be floating in air. If you have a loaded gun, you can shoot the fish (BR works best). The fish will slowly float through the air to the ground. Note: This does not always work.

Valhalla: Leave level boundary

To leave the level boundary, you must be at the ocean barrier (the side with the ocean). Once there, you and your friend must get a Mongoose and a Wraith. Have your friend drive the Mongoose into the barrier. Keep accelerating and have somebody get in the Wraith. Drive behind the Mongoose inside the Wraith and use the boost. You must be close for the Mongoose to go through. Once you hit it, your friend must jump out once he sees it pass the barrier. You are now outside the barrier

Get out of the pit

Go to The Forge. Turn into the Oracle. Place a two-way node below a fence. Go directly up to the fence as far as you can. Go the highest point while hugging the fence. After that, place a two-way node where you are located. It should spawn on the other side of the fence. If it disappears, try again. This may require multiple attempts. Go into the node still as the Oracle. Do not turn back into Spartan or Elite or you only have five seconds before the Guardians kill you. Also, do not touch the ground or you will die. You can stand on the ledge or Warthog. If there is no Warthog behind the fence you are at, it is the wrong one.

Leave any level boundary

Go to Forge mode with at least one other person and spawn a turret. Have the player that will leave the level get on the turret. Have the other player grab the turret, then go to an invisible wall (for example, the ocean boundary on Valhalla). Put them up to it, still in the turret, and still holding it. You may push the other player through the barrier, which is fine. If this happens, have the person on the turret press D-pad Up to turn into the Monitor. If the player does not get pushed through the barrier, put the person in the turret as close as you can to the invisible wall, have them look up, and press D-pad Up. After you have done that, have the person that is not outside the level quit. The person outside the level should commit suicide in Monitor mode by going far outside the boundary. Then, go to Theater mode. Advance to the point where you killed yourself, then press Y to go into free cam. You are now free to take screen shots as desired. If you do not want to keep fast-forwarding through the game, record the last moments where you die, and save that for future use.

Go through any window on Forge

On any map you can forge, you can find windows and chain link fences and go through them, such as Foundry and many other maps. Have two players start. Have one player make a machine gun turret and set it down, then have the other person will get in it. After the person gets in the turret, have the other player pick it up with the Monitor while the person is still inside. Move it to a chain linked fence or window, pushing the player until he goes through the obstacle. Have the other player turn into the Monitor and go back into player mode. Do this when you see the window or fence in front of your face. Then, in most cases, you can move around and whatever desired. You can also try to put Spawners and Teleporters inside so that others can join you.

Floating objects

* To make objects to float in Forge mode, make a tower out of two way nodes and crates. Then, delete everything except the teleporter under what you want to float. Make sure the tower ends with a two way node. This requires some time, but if done correctly you can make floating buildings that do not fall when you touch them.

* Go into Forge mode and stack radio antennas one on top of another. After you think it is high enough, put a two way node on the top and a crate in between the node. Then, delete the antennas.

Flying Turret

This trick requires two players. Have one player go into Forge mode and the other player in Player mode. Make a turret. Drop it and have the other player get in it. Pick up the turret and the other player will stay in. This is useful for getting out of the barrier on some maps and for a "human slingshot".

Make all scenery disappear

Use the following trick to make all the scenery in a map disappear. In Forge mode, go to a map that has a lot of scenery (for example, Foundry), and make a trip mine. Set the Run Time Minimum and the Run Time Maximum as the same number by looking at it and pressing X while you are the Monitor. By doing this, you will make it have an instant respawn. Stand on the trip mine and place it as many times as possible. After awhile, everything that can respawn will disappear. Everything will come back eventually. However, until then you can have fun with a big empty room. This works best if you get multiple people and make multiple trip mines. You can also use this trick to create extremely massive piles of trip mines.

Rolling dead Flood arms

Go to the first level with the Flood. When you see them, kill them and look at the ground. You should see the severed arms of the Flood rolling around on the floor.

Flying Monitor

In Forge mode, go to a level that has a Scorpion tank and make one appear. As the Monitor, put the Scorpion directly above you and drop it. Do not change back to your player. Stay as the Monitor while the tank falls. When the tank hits you, you should fly up and away without doing anything.

Go through walls

Play on a Forge map. Place a Mongoose, machine gun turret, or a plasma cannon directly up against the wall you want to go through. If you use a Mongoose, place sideways against the wall. If you use a machine gun turret or plasma cannon, then place the end you grab onto directly against the wall. After that, go up to the side of the wall the mongoose or turret is not on so that you are right next to it. The message "Press RB to grab onto turret/Mongoose" will appear. Press RB and you should go through the wall while holding onto the turret. Release RB and you will be on the opposite side of the wall.
Vehicles go through invisible walls

On certain levels in Campaign mode, you may want to take you vehicle through most of the level. However, there are invisible walls that keep the vehicle from moving past where it is needed. To simply pass through this, drive your vehicle through the doorway, gate, tunnel, etc. where the invisible wall is located. Just before you go through it, jump out and let the vehicle slide through the wall. This allows you to take the vehicle through the rest of the level if desired.

Ride destroyed vehicles

Start a Forge session with two people (preferably in split-screen mode). Spawn a Ghost. Have one person throw a plasma grenade on it. While the plasma grenade is on the Ghost, have the other person get in. If done correctly, you should be in the destroyed vehicle. Note: You cannot move it.

Go through ceilings

To go through ceilings (open boxes stacked on top of each other), you must be on a Forge map (a map that is used on Forge and custom games). Place a door horizontally on the second story box. Place a machine gun turret to where it is laying down on the floor, but the part you grab onto is propped up onto the door. Make sure the part you grab onto is facing the floor. After a few seconds, delete the door underneath the turret. The turret should float like that. Whenever you play that particular custom map on Forge or custom games, you should be able to jump up underneath that turret and grab onto it through the ceiling, then release it and pass through the ceiling. Note: This only works with machine gun turrets. It may require a few attempts to jump up to the ceiling so that you are directly underneath the turret.

Drive a destroyed Wraith

Go into the Forge then go to Foundry. Make sure that you are next to a completely flat wall. Place a Double Box Open up against the wall facing outwards. Edit the spawn time so that it does not spawn for 45 seconds. Start a new round. Go to the location where you placed the Double Box Open and spawn a Wraith directly on the "tear drop" of where the box spawns. Go into Normal mode, get in the Wraith, and wait. The box will eventually spawn and the Wraith will be jammed inside of it. Look all the way up and start shooting. You will not receive damage, but the Wraith will. However the Wraith cannot explode because you cannot kill yourself in this position. The Wraith will soon be totally destroyed. The best way to tell is if a Wraith is destroyed is when blue flames appear on the two front "wings". Note: This works about 90% of the time. Once you have seen the blue flames you can delete the box and see what it looks like.

To be really accurate at your shots as a sniper, dont rush. Do it slowly.

Find you target, aim your cross-hair on him and slowly follow his movements.

With you aiming at him, and moving slowly, you lock on to him for a perfect shot.

Continue moving slowly and place a few round into him.

Two should kill him unless shot the legs or head.

Headshots are of course 1 shot and legs are like 3.

Enjoy! :D
