The client loads the world textures, models, etc from Metro (.metr) files. Your normal world files are located in /resource/final_world/.
You can switch around these metro files so that serverside, you're in International, but on your client, you're in Downtown (at the coords you are in in International). Walls, Roads, NPCs etc all stay true to the server, so you have to have a plan for how to navigate, but if you ever wanted to take a picture of yourself floating or in some place you can't get to, just determine the coords of the location you want to goto in District A, then goto those coords in District B. Jackout, switch the files, jack back in, and you're there.
If you don't want to jackout, you can also switch the files while in the loading area and before hardlining somewhere - but if you remove a world file before you have a hardline selected, the district will disappear.
This isn't limited to just the normal districts, though. You can use this to walk around the cinematic worlds - the Assassin's Barge, the location of Morpheus's death, the Merv's house, the Oracle's apartment, etc. There's also unreleased construct worlds in the /resource/constructs/ folder which you can go to.
It is a !@#$%^&* navigating, as walls and stuff are still relative to whereever you are, it's best if you can find a place to go to that has the coords of a nice big field or something. Still, this is a nice little trick that allows you to explore worlds previously unavailable to you. They only show up on your client though, so don't try recalling your friends to see what you found - unless of course, you both have the switched files
