Surfing tutorial for beginners :P : FPS / MMORPG / RTS Discussion

First thing you need to learn to surf is a surf map. Look for any beginner surf maps at the maps section and download it.

Now make a new game with your beginner surf map. Open up console (` or ~ key) and type in sv_airaccelerate 100 Now you are ready.

The keys used to surf are A, S, and D. Never press W while surfing. To start surfing, chose one of the sides of the ramp. Now jump onto it. When you're on one of the sides of the ramp, strafe against the slope. Strafing is when you move sideways. If you are on the left side of the ramp with the slope like this / then press D. If you are on the right side \ then press A. To accelerate, look down. When you're reaching the end of a ramp, look up. W is used when trying to stop moving in mid air.

Once you learn how to surf a ramp, try going from one ramp to another without stopping on land. Myself, i like much surfing maps add my steam stinkypearl to play with me
