Server Questions

Q. I live outside Europe/the American continent and the servers seem to be down when I want to play. What's going on?

A. Our daily server maintenance window for Tabula Rasa is reserved from 10am to 12pm GMT (11:00 to 13:00 European CET - 4am to 6am American CDT) daily. We’ve chosen this time frame as history shows us that the maintenance will affect the lowest amount of players. This doesn’t mean we will use the entire two hours or that it may not be longer depending on the need. This also does not mean that we will have maintenance every day. Unfortunately, this may affect the Australia/Asia population during their prime time. Because we have one patching system to serve all 4 servers, we are not able to rotate the maintenance times. Please know, however, that we always try to keep downtimes as short and infrequent as possible.


Q. Why don’t we have more servers? I’m lagging here!!

A. Can you be specific about your lag? It actually helps us more if you can tell us what you are experiencing, on what maps and at what times. You can do this by contacting our PlayNC Technical Support Team by typing /petition in game. Until we get server performance tweaked it would be a really bad idea to just 'turn on another server' to try and help performance. The fact of the matter is that just bringing up another server might not solve the problem. For example, some maps have performance issues no matter what the load is right now. We need to resolve the issues themselves, not the symptoms. We have developers monitoring, adjusting and resolving issues constantly. More resources are added to the current server hardware set up and this should ease part of the "lag" problem but this is just one facet of what could be causing the issue.


Q. What does the server load status mean?

A. The load status can be a bit alarming when you want to join in the fun on the European server and it is a flashing orange or red. Fret not, we have 5 server load status and while they are representative of the player population currently logged on, they each represent a rather wide percentage of load. High could mean that the server is just over half full.

Q. Why do I need to enter payment details to be able to get my 30 days of free gameplay?

A. The box states that there are 30 days of included Game time and that a valid credit card or a game time is required to play. The time is included, not free. Your account will not be debited until the included game time has expired. So if you decide that you do not want to subscribe to the game you can always cancel the recurring billing (except if you used Paysafecard or a GTC as they are prepaid).

Q. Global chat is horrendous, there are so many languages spoken on the server!

A. Language chat channels are being tested and are coming soon. As the game is currently sold in English, French and German, the game will only recognise those 3 versions and automatically connect you to the relevant English, French or German chat channel. You will still be able to access other language channels but straight from the beginning you will be accessing a global chat channel to match the language you've installed the game in.


Q. My minimap icons always cover up my character marker. Make it stop already!!

A. Okay, okay, we hear ya! We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from the feedback form about this issue. It will be fixed in an upcoming patch.


Q. I’m looking for Stazzle and Splatter for my Divide mission, where are they?

A. These MOBs were reported to have low spawn rates and should be fixed very soon. In the meantime, hold on to the mission and come back to it if you are having trouble locating those named MOBs.


Q. Why do I have to wait 7 days before joining a new clan?

A. The idea was to prevent exploiting as we further expand our clan warfare system. This was a way to discourage clan hopping for spies and also for exploiting certain upcoming features with the PvP system and clans, such as racking up kill points for your clan on a whim. However, we do understand how this might be frustrating if you want to be in a non-PvP clan and a PvP clan, so we are looking at ways of allowing you to be in non-PvP clans with different characters if you want, but still only one PvP clan per account. Non-PvP clans would not have 7 day restrictions. We will always be open to evaluation on the time period. Seven days might be too long, but four days might be just right.
