I've got a friend (yea yea) that has several computers at home (six to be precise) over a high speed internet connection 5mbps. He used to play Everquest and boxxed even more than six on there. He's looking for a new mmog that either has just been released or about to be released that can be boxxed, i.e. one that you hit attack and it basically goes on it's own with maybe a hotkey to cast spells. This means that /assist is a MUST and /autofollow is a MUST.
That strikes out D&D Online right from the start as it has no /autofollow and you have to keep adjusting to attack as the mobs move around during the battle and you stop attacking in the middle of the fight unless you move and then attack again.
Most online mmog's don't have a good /autofollow. Even Everquest is not right as it takes wide turns and causes circles and /autofollow to stop working.
Guild Wars can be boxxed, you just have to have the main attacker announce who is being fought and then others can /assist him (with the key associated with Targeting: Priority Target and then Action: Do It). However, /autofollow in Guild Wars and assisting doesn't always work right because of their stupid collision detection of small objects and of friendly players in the way. Everquest had a nice hotkey function that allowed casting any spells or set of spells and assisting anyone nearby. FFXI has a good /autofollow but you can run into things and stop following just like on Guild Wars. Someone told me that you can't box on WoW, not sure of the reason, but WoW sux anyway.
Does anyone know of any such games that are boxxing friendly? Where you /assist with some hot key and target the same as another has targeted and have the option of attacking immediately with hot keys to cast spells? It would be boxxing friendly if it had one key to assist whoever and attack immediately. Guild Wars is not boxxing friendly, because you need two keys to press to assist, plus the main attacker must announce before others can assist him. The game cannot have collision detection for friendly players and small objects on the ground either. And it must have a GOOD /autofollow that follows directly another player and doesn't stop when the other player stops.
EQ2 is not a new MMOG though. It's been out for awhile. He's looking for something that has just been released like in the last six months or about to be released. Does anyone know if Rising Force Online is boxxable?
