ok lets try this one again since they nerfed the other way of doing it.
Install Lotro in one folder, then install Lotro into a different folder.
Start each Lotro from there specific locations and you should be able to dual log with 2 accounts.
I have done it on 2 different computers with 2 accounts. Works as of right now.

Just tried it, works like a charm. Though two copies of the game installed on the same pc is a lot of used hd space lol.

What you also need to realize is that Turbine is aware of players who are presently doing this. They posted a huge post on their support forums claiming that they're going to ban anyone they see attempting to log in to the same account from the same IP address.
Mainly because it states in the EULA that you can only be on one character per account at a time, I'd advise anyone who does this to be extremely careful. It's not been a week since the end of the open beta, and nearly a hundred accounts were banned for doing this already.
It does work, though. Don't get me wrong. Not trying to discredit anyone. Just giving a word of caution.

Yeah, sorry about that. I responded after about two days of getting no sleep at all. Lack of sleep tends to make reading comprehension go downhill. :p

You can have a character running behind you and buffing/healing you the whole time, or you could have two nukers who just kill everything they see.
Thank god my swedish isp gives me 5 ip adresses... maybe I should try this out

Renaming folder? who talked about that?
heres a small script which finds the LOTRO window and renames it.
1. Run First LOTRO
2. Close Turbine Launcher in the taskbar
3. Run Rename LOTRO Window.exe
4. Run your 2nd LOTRO
5. Again close the turbine launcher (reason it sometimes smacks up graphics on a few systems)
